A friend of mine asked me to help him come up with an original or creative way to propse to his girlfriend....Any ideas?

This is an idea I always loved...
Create a small photo album of a bunch of their best moments together, and at the end of the photos, put a photograph of the ring. When she opens to that page and sees it, he pulls out the ring from the photo and asks her to marry him.

A good friend did this, but you gotta be brave:
Take the girl to the beach with a towel/beach chair, and a child's bucket/shovel.
Plop down near some old drift wood.
Ask the girl to help you build a sand castle, and point out a spot where you would like her to start digging.
She digs up a bottle of champagne, two glasses, and a picnic basket that had been buried by the drift wood the previous night.
Enjoy the sunset together, and pop the question.
A second friend of mine rewrote the words of a song to include a proposal, and did it at a Karaoke Night. VERY funny, but not as romantic.

I think it would be sweet to go to one of those carnival photo booths and after the first or second photos pull out the ring and ask her.
Or ask a caricature guy ahead of time to draw you on one knee with a ring. While he is drawing the 2 of them he can be telling her how much he loves her and when the artist reveals the picture he can actually be on his knee with the ring.

whatever that guy does....tell him to NEVER put a ring in the woman's FOOD...EVER... she'll probably eat it all up or....(you know)
it really depends on what this girl is like... *if she is traditional..have him do the "uncle SAM" proposal... him going down on one knee and saying "will you marry me?"..or if he wants it "young and the restless style" he can take her to a restaurant...or a garden, tell her how much he loves her, etc... then going down on one knee and saying "if you would marry me, i'd be the happiest man/guy in the world"...
* if she is impulsive/spontanious, have him propose in a group of people... talk about marriage or something..then have him say "how about us getting married?".. or "i'm gonna marry this girl"..
*if she is in the middle, have him propose in bed..whenever.. in the living room, kitchen..in the store...etc.. if she hates the 'one knee' idea...FORGET IT..
*ooh i almost forgot.. if she's adventurous.. have him take her somewhere fun: where she can rock climb, bungee jump or disney world... then when they are in the middle of w/e (roller coster ride, bungee jumping, rock climbing)..have him propose to her..

get a nice box, fill it full of red tissue paper (not loo roll, the nice fancy stuff u buy in shops) and inside have a beautiful big diamond ring in it ...

make a fortune cookie that says "will you marry me?" in a language that she doesn't understand and ask the waiter/waitress to translate for her :)
