Men and Women perspectives on friends and lovers?

Question

My experience is that once women think of a man as her friend, it's quite difficult for her to switch him over to the lover category.

But many guys think that they can be the girl's friend first, then become lover later on.

Any comments?

It's all individually-based. But I see two basic categories of love interests for men and women:

Girls and guys are both excited by that new person that sparks their interest. That's a given. But, they can be excited by seeing a friend in a new light that transistions them from friend to lover. The good lovers are friends anyway, so it makes sense that it is possible for friends to become lovers.

This is true! Its not that its difficult to turn male friends over into lovers or relationship potential, but rather it is just out of the question for us (well for me anyway). Once I have established a platonic relationship with a male individual, I could never turn him into a lover, because I simply did not see him that way the first time. Women are very intuitive creatures, and I can sense who I would want to be with or not very easily. As far as a man, shall we go there? Men just love women and sex, there are no complexities to this. Men are very simple creatures, there is not much involved there. Hope this helps!!!

This is true. Depending on the person two people can be friends first and then become lovers. I think this is best, you can really get to know the person with no strings attached.

my husband & I were friends for a year before we dated
( but I always thought he was cute) then we became lovers , dated & married a year later ( yes we still LOVE
eachother, almost 10 yrs. now)

The only reason a guy becomes friends with a woman is if he wants to have sex with her.
