Love is obviously in the air!
1. Yes, and you have seen this done if you've ever had a slice of "Red Velvet Cake". Not a problem.
2. Commonly done, not an issue at all.
4. If you don't have a 3/4 C, or can't do a 1/4 C three times, that is, if you only have a one cup measurer, check to see if there are measuring lines on the side or inside of your one cupper. If there isn't, fill the cup one half full to your eyeball estimate, then add half more what you already added. P.S. Buy a full set of measuring cups, they are cheap. Happy Valentine Baking!

Hello,
Happy VDay to you. #1 Yes, make a standard white cake. Calls for Egg whites separated from the yoke. After the cake is 3/4 through it's mixing set on low and add your color a couple drops at a time until it's the desired color. Scrape down bowl and mix the rest of the way.

#2 Pretty much the same, add all the frosting ingds whip until ingds are combined. Add your color again a drop at a time. Scrape bowl then finish mixing.

#3 If you only have a 1 C measure fill it 3/4 to the top. If your off a little it won't hurt.. Good luck. :)

You can add food coloring to cake batter however be careful when using red food coloring because it can change the taste and red food coloring often has an off taste to it. The same goes for frosting, yes you can add food coloring but if you need pink use very little red and make sure you taste it to see if the taste has changed. To make the 3/4 just use the 1/4 cup measure three times. Good luck and enjoy your cupcakes.

1. Yes. How do you think red velvet cake turns red? :)

2. Yes, of course. Just don't use too much. Drop one or two drops at a time and stir. Too much food coloring can make icing bitter.

3. Don't you have a set of measuring cups that comes with a 3/4 cup measure? If not, take your one cup measure and fill it 3/4 of the way full.

you can use food coloring in both and 3/4 is 1/4 cup less than a cup. so put in a cup of the flour and then add enough flour to make it only 1/4 less than a full cup,I hope you have a measuring cup it will show you were 3/4 cup is.

1. Yes
2. Yes, but be careful adding liquid food coloring to your frosting it can become too thin. there is a food coloring paste that is made specifically for this, also the colors are more vibrant.
3. There are 16 tablespoons to 1 cup
12 tablespoons = 3/4 cup
you can fill another cup of flour then remove 4 tbs

1 -yes
2 -yes
3 -anybody that said fill to the 3/4 line on a measuring cup got it wrong. They are using the wrong measuring cup.
There are two kinds of measuring cups : those made for liquids and those made for dry goods.
They cannot be used interchangeably.
Those made for dry goods are designed to be filled and then have the have the amount of excess product removed using the back of a knife. So in your case get a set of DRY measuring cups, fill the one that says 1/2 C level it off then fill the one that says 1/4 C level that off. Result is 3/4 C of flour.

Yes, you can add food coloring to cake batter and frosting...however, don't put too much in, or it can cause a strange flavor in the cake or frosting. And there should be a 3/4 cup dry measuring cup in your set. Have fun.
