I know my way around the gym. I have been working out the majority of my life and have even helped and encouraged other people with their workouts. So, I just wanted to explore what it would take to do it professioally.

a college degree would help, if you're too young for that, there are many organizations that can certify you to train people.

ISSA
NASM
ACSM
NSCA
NCSF

just to name a few. but none of these are easy or cheap. and if you want to work at a good gym and someplace that will pay you what is normal, they usually require at least 2 certifications... no less.

Bottom line is how good of shape are you in. You can not preach and not practice. If you are in good shape and have helped others in the past, simply put up a flyer in your local gyms. If they ask for references, you might want to mention the people you have helped in the past. A personal trainer is very informed on the different muscle groups, how they work, and nutrition. They are more a coach than a trainer. You may have to have a flexible schedule. I am not familiar with an license or permits you might have to have. Inquire at your local gym. Hope that helps.

you probable can grow to be a personal coach. purely because you've "the seem" does no longer advise you're an excellent coach. I artwork with someone who has continually lifted weights, yet fails in the category of attentiveness and maximum ideal type even as preparation customers. He spends extremely some the time operating his mouth or checking textual content messages. pass for it lady!
