I too would suggest that you may want to pay off your other bills, though this is not necessarily going to fix your credit.

Apply for a secured card. You put money in the bank and they give you a credit card with a limit of the amount you brought in. Say you bring in $500 they give you a secured card for $500. Most major banks and Credit Unions offer such a card and after paying on it for six months to a year they let the card become unsecured, (they let you have your money back).

Always pay off the card every month show you are a good risk and that you use credit wisely. Max it out once but only if you have the money to pay it off immediately. Then never use more than 30% to 40% of the limit. This will help fix your credit.

Good luck,

Pay off all your other bills and keep them in good standing for about 6 - 8 months. Easiest card to get is a fuel card, get and maintain that in good standing for a while to build a good credit history.

you could go on line and search that way. But if it comes down to it you pick one that has the lowest invitation fee. then as you use your card it help you get back on track. but then every time you use your card you are showing them that you can pay back and use the credit card okay. then try this about a year and keep up on everything. then by then you can try to go to unsecured credit cards and they will see that you have been paying and you are able to start getting them then.
