OK, some of you are aware of my hatred of the term “tramp stamp.” Some of you may not be. Anyways, how many of you users of that awful term have a loved one with a lower Back Piece. Is your loved one a tramp, too?

P.S. I think they are hot. I would have answered that question about this topic earlier, but there are way too many answers already.

I use that term loosely (no pun intended). I don't really believe all girls with them are tramps, unless their behavior or tattoo says so, but I have said it and felt like and *** afterward.

I think its just another bad stereotype that once learned is hard to get away from :-\

Don't have a loved one with a tattoo there but I have a lower back tattoo...on the side of my back. I think that the label is kind of dumb...a tattoo doesn't make a tramp...the person themselves determine whether they're a "tramp" or not. The term is quite demeaning and in general if you're a girl...it's one of the areas on the body that will not really stretch out or whatsoever should a woman get pregnant or gain or lose weight. I have a lower back tattoo but the meaning of the tattoo is VERY far from a "tramp stamp". A tattoo does not define class....I see some comments on here from "classy" people that aren't inked and it's kind of funny to read their comments and read them spout off about how they are that much better than an individual with tats....not exactly what you would call "classy" behavior...

I think that people need to find more things to do with their time than to label individuals based on their ink. Also, if individuals are that closed minded about something as simple as a tattoo on another random individual, then they really need to get out and see the world moreso.

Hope that u have a great vday Blair!

I have a tattoo on my lower back. I got it there, because it was the best place for it. it would have looked weird anywhere else. I'm never had any negative comments about it. People actually really like it because it's cute and unique. I also wanted it in a place that I could cover up easily and a place where the tattoo wouldn't get distorted once I decide to have kids.

I think that the people who are low class (as others have mentioned above) are those who use the term "tramp stamp" and similar terms. I think that anyone who looks down onto others and judge them by their looks are low class.

People need to learn to be more accepting and open minded. Most people don't even know that I have a tattoo. It would be pretty sad if they changed their opinion about me after learning that I have one.

I have a lower back tattoo, I love mine and I know I am not a tramp. I hate the term "tramp stamp" too. I have had lots of comments from people on how good it looks.

I have a lower back tattoo that I love! Eventually it will be my whole back piece, but for now its just the lower back. I have had people call it a tramp stamp, I just laugh at people who are that judgemental. I dont run around in slutty clothes to show off my tattoo and most other people with lower back tats dont either. I just find it interesting that you are automatically assumed to be a tramp b/c of the placement of a tattoo... and I have never heard a lower back piece on a male referred to as a "tramp stamp", just something to think aobut....

I don't like that term either. I DO like lower back tattoos on women but at the same time they're becoming a cliche. My girlfriend wants to get one and I would never consider her a tramp.

I just think they are way too done. I don't want to get anything because it's popular or even get it in a place that is popular. I don't think it makes a girl a tramp just because she has it in the middle of her back. I also don't think that girls with tonge rings are sluts(that was the big one when I got my tongue pierced at 13). I am not going to get mine there just because it's extreamlly overdone. I am going to get two small ones off to the sides of where the lower back piece would be. I have a friend that has butterflies off to the sides and I think it's very sexy.

hi Blair
i have heard the term 'tramp stamp' before as well, and i think it's the most ridiculous phrase that's been coined by today's society. i actually have a tat on my lower back, and received the tat about 6 years ago, before the popularity began. i am not a tramp =)

i love tats!!!

Oooh, I hate it too..I've got lower back tat as well (my fav)... I've been with the same guy 20 years,(I'm no tramp) and I designed it myself, (so no stamp either) (yes, i really meant flash, but stamp works just as well.) Really, where is it written that one area for a tat is "holier" than another, lol! If you have a tat, especially one that you have designed yourself, it is pretty much established that you might not really care what other people think!
also can you believe the term is in Wiki? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lower_back_tattoo
Personally I find that it is used by either really conservative people who like to call others names to make up for what they are missing in their lives, or those who are "culturally" as well as intellectually "challenged" (i.e."lower" class, uneducated, ditto heads) repeating whatever they think makes them sound witty so they can also feel better about themselves.
