In my opinion a fresh, hot cup of McDonalds Smooth coffee is hard to beat (especially at 69 cents)? I don't have much experience with other coffee shops - which would you recommend?

Considering Starbucks coffees are not at all tasty, they must have a great marketing team.

I did see the study of the three coffees that you mentioned, and I agree with you and the study...McDonald's has the best coffee.

When you are comparing the base coffee of all three (not the cappachino, frappanchino, expressos, lattes), I personally like starbucks. Starbucks' coffee is a much darker roast than most. Some people describe it as burnt, but to me that darker roasted flavor gives Starbucks its uniqueness. The thing I like most about Starbucks is that it is consistent in brewing their coffee. Dunkin' Donuts is a close second. This coffee is a medium roast, and can be described a nutty. But because I've been drinking Starbucks so long, Dunkin' Donuts coffee seems to be too mild for my taste. McDonalds' coffee is weak and inconsistent. Some stores brew their coffee just perfectly and some stores serve hours-old coffee. there's just no consistency.

If you like strong, dark coffee with a bitter taste at the end, then Starbucks is for you. I've never had Dunkin Donuts coffee, let alone McDonald's, but I don't think theirs would taste too great.

Personally, I like Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf for the major chains. I suggest find coffee shops in your area. In my opinion, they're usually the best.

I would pick Starbucks over the other 2 every time. McDonalds will do in a pinch when you are on a long road trip. Never had Dunkin Donuts, although on my recent trip to Boston, they were every where I heard lots of people saying liked DD better than Starbucks.

Depends on what you like. Starbucks is for people who like darker, stronger coffees. I prefer Dunkin Donuts and McDonald's coffee is just plain horrible.

You're right, McDonalds does make a fine cup of coffee, but Dunkin-Donuts is pretty good. I buy it by the bag and brew it at home (McD's doesn't offer it by the bag). Starbuck's is good, but overrated.

Starbucks but it's a little bit expensive for something that you'll get rid of in about an hour or so. DD is like drinking coffee flovored milk and McDs is just nasty.
