There was once only one church. Once the Protestant movement started it never stopped. Now many people think the solution to any internal disagreement is to break away and make a new church. On the other hand , we do not all say that no one else has some true version of Jesus. Most of the major points of faith are still universal throughout Christianity. Most of the biggest differences between churches are over how to approach interfaith dialog, or if there should even be interfaith dialog and over political issues and which political issues we should be involved in and why. For example I disagree with the fundamentalists over when and how it is appropriate to evangelize and how to talk to other faiths, agnostics, and atheists. But we actually agree on more important issues (in religion) like the Trinity and Jesus as the Messiah. I might not like their application of certain teachings, but I would not say that they do not know God.

There may be different denominations, however there is only one Jesus & one Bible. The Bible tells us to test everything with the word of God. The basis of most Christian denominations is the same - Jesus, the son of God came to earth , born of a virgin, lived a sinless life (while fulfilling around 3,000 prophesies), went to the cross to die for our sins, died and rose again after 3 days. Beyond that which denomination you chose is up to you as long as they hold these truths - the rest is man made traditions and beliefs. Some believe when you baptise you sprinkle, some dunk. Things like that. The most important thing is you test everything by the Word of God and want a church & denomination that holds the Word of God above man's beliefs. The Bible is God's words to us - His love letters - his instruction manual on how to make it through this life in a way that looks like Christ. Personally, I go to a non-denomination church. All that means is all that holds authority and governs us is the Word of God. If it's not in there, we don't do it.

Remember it is not them who present jesus it is jesus who presents himself to those who are worthy.
Even though you might think of me as a callow youth, know that the spiritual mind overcomes that of the natural mind.
These words that i give unto you should be meditated on, and if you really understood them, you would be so so so so much better.
I personally analyze so much that i had a really hard time on the religion issue. I am now a member of the lds church. The difference is that this church or organization, is not or at least should not be a social hangout, it is a place where you come to learn about the true doctrine. There are living prophets, who commune with the heavens on this day. I dont want to get you confused or anything, but you should check out lds.org when you are ready ok.

Heck there's four different Gospels of Christ, maybe because the writers(or editors) knew that everyone has a different point of view. A different opinion. We know that opinions are like feet, everyone has them and a lot of them stink. Get your own version and figure out what you believe & sure enough someone will insult you for it, but why let that stop you. Stand on your own Feet. Good luck with that & God Bless

Most Christian denominations have the same basic foundation. We differ in minor things really. We all believe that; Jesus was born a virgin, he died on the cross for our sins, rose on the third day and escaped death. And if we follow his teachings from the bible we will go to heaven.
IF a denom. head is not Jesus and if they do NOT follow these teachings, most agree they are cults.

Since the beginning of time, there have been many thousands of gods. Some with eight arms, some with hawk's head, some three-in-one, some who want everybody murdered who don't follow him blindly. Take your pick.
Gods are anything you imagine them to be. Since they are only in the imagination of the superstitious, they can be made into anything at all. You want one with two heads but no brain- - - okay you've got him. Start praying.

Jesus is found in the Gospels. Christianity is based upon them. I'm not sure what you mean about different versions of Jesus, as there's only one book about Him.

Most of the Jesus story is from the mystery religions, so there is no ONE right story. The churches have rewritten most of his life to fit their needs of modeling a savior to appeal to the masses.

jesus commanded us to do three things. that was to spread the good news of the gospel and to love. jesus also told us to believe in him and we shall be saved. . everything else is just legalism and people wanting to be right. jesus warned about "denominations." he told us that we are to come together and agree so we can accomplish much. it is sad to see all gods children thrown in hundreds of different directions. jesus knows our hearts, and god is a just and merciful god. those so called christians who are constantly judging others instead of loving them, are missing the point of jesus. hope this helps.
