About Earth:

To human knowledge, is a globe.

To my own eyes, is round as I have been over a mountain next to the ocean, and could see the curvature from one side to the other (the coolest view in my life besides watching my wife’s “curvatures” if you know what I mean).

To most people’s perspective, is flat.

To an astronaut, that is far away, it looks round and flat (a circle).

To any two-dimensional being, is round and flat cause they don’t understand anything with more than 2 dimensions, nor can see a 3rd dimension.

To Einstein, “is relative to your position and knowledge”.

To God, “damn, I wanted it square but oh well, a globe looks good anyways”

To human knowledge back in the dark ages, is flat and if you say otherwise you will be burned alive.

To aliens in the future, is a rock floating in space that is good for nothing anymore after global warming made it useless.

About gravity: There is no such a thing.

She is right. It is just acceleration we are exposed to by the space-time warp created by the mass of the planet. We just call it “gravity” but in reality is just space-time warping.

Well... How do YOU know that the Earth is not flat? What personal experience do you have that makes you believe - without a doubt - that the Earth is round? Or have you just been told by someone else that the Earth is definitely round?

It's a fantastic research paper idea!!

Maybe she doesn't think that the earth is flat, but she is doing research that shows both sides. There are arguments for and against..maybe she just wants to show both.

She needs to see the photos taken of Earth from satellite cameras. Look some up on your 'putor and print them out for her.

You must have some really crappy teachers at your school... does she actually think that, or is she just trying to write a convincing argument about it? Because there's a huge difference.
