Doesn't it kind of depend on the source of the comment? For example, I work with a guy who is extremely arrogant and unscrupulous. I caught him trying to get reimbursed for personal expenses on a travel report he submitted, and turned it back to him. He called me an interfering stupid [pejorative for female reproductive orifice] [pejorative word also used to describe a female dog]. From him, that was a complement; on the other hand, if it came from someone I loved or respected, it would be a crushingly mean thing to say.
I think that the meanest things that people can say can only come from people who we do love and respect. When people we don't care about, or who we don't respect, say things that are mean-spirited, nasty or evil, we just consider the source.
Coming from someone we love or respect, I think the meannest statements are things that tell us the person doesn't respect us or care about our feelings, or that are somehow an attempt to diminish us or demean us. I would hope that most of us choose the people we love, trust and respect carefully enough that we never hear mean things from them.
If we do, then I think we have to reassess whether these people deserve the feelings we have about them, and our judgement in considering people deserving of our love and respect.

Highly suggestive and left open to opinion. Mean to one is a joke to another. Also, something like this seems to answer a question as if it would be used. Things like you are lower than slime or lower than a pregnant ant are humorous. You are sub-human means almost nothing. Saying I hate you, would hurt if you liked that person and they liked you. If you attact an individual trait, like a scar or they way they smell or their race, that would be mean. Hard to say. Hope this helps.

The meanest remark is probable report-worth. no count if that image is staged or you incredibly are particular desires, there is no reason to insult you. I used to lie on a futon to computer screen television, and it replace into horribly uncomfortable. i'd plenty particularly lie on my mattress.

The meanest thing that you can say to someone is "I love you" but you don't mean it. That's worse than telling them that you hate them.

Tell them they mean nothing to you. Love and hate are strong emotions, but at least you have them, good or bad. But total disinterest- making them a total zero in your mind or heat, is pretty damn harsh.

saying "go to hell"....and meaning it...wishing someone eternal misery and suffering is pretty harsh although today people say it without even thinking about what they are saying....people do that a lot these days.

You would need to figure out what their secret worst fear about themself is and tell them that it's true. It has to be something that they are very insecure about.
