Even if this is not a scam it is frought with problems. You will have to appear at customs to get the car and anything that got shipped with it (even if by accicent) you will end up accounting for. Worst case is that there are drugs or other contraban on board!

I'd steer clear of this!!!!!

I would go with scam every time........unless he has imported it while serving there in the armed forces. A lot of cars come in to the UK for American service men stationed here.

It is a scam. Do not wire funds to him. These scams are on every car selling website. Report him to yahoo autos and he should get shut down. I sell highline cars (Ferrari, Lamborghini, etx.) and I see half of my own cars on websites...someone else trying to sell cars that I physically have. Once you report them, they get shut down in a hurry. What type of car are you looking for....maybe I can point you in the right direction.

I'm sure you can find a car in the entire United States that will suit your needs.

I suggest you reconsider.

If it sounds and feels funny.. it's because something isn't right. Trust your instincts. If you asked the question here is because you already smell something funny about this.

Don't do it.

if this is a high-end collectible you should fly to UK and do the deal in person. you have to be aware of the custom duties out of one country and into another. you'll spend a lot of money to do this. if it's JUST a car, forget it.

You can't, and he will. This is a well known scam, although it's usually South Africa, not London. Obviously it's expanding to other countries.

Buy locally. NEVER buy anything you cannot see, drive, and have checked out by a mechanic.
