I would like to know of a website that you can download sounds of a domestic cat crying. My cat loves to hear these sounds, he is alone in the house, and when he hears these sounds he acts crazy. Thanks

Cats vocalize in many different ways and sounds. They can have high and low pitched meows, growls, hisses and some times it even sounds like they said a word or two. They express their feelings and moods by vocalizing in many different ways. When I worked at an animal hospital I was cleaning cages in the recovery area. The cage next to the one I was cleaning had a male cat in it that had just been neutered. I'm doing the empty cage and I hear "no more, no more, no more". Thinking it was the tech being funny, I asked her if she was doing that. She smiled and said no, we both went over to that cage with the cat in it. He did it again! It was so cool to think that cat sounded like he was saying words! Hope this helps with your question.

Wasn't sure if there was an actual question in there but...my cat has many different 'meows', all of which are distinct. Like Abby G's cat, mine also says 'momma' and 'no' but he also has a very high pitched whine that sounds just like a baby's cries. And, when he is frisky and wants to play, he comes the closest to saying meow. Sounds more like mrrwow, very funny and playful. When he sees another cat, bird, squirrel, etc...his sound is more like a squawking chatter from up and back in his throat.

I don't know about cats meowing but I saw a DVD of birds singing & flying around. I think it was in a book store.

What do you mean? Do you mean, "are there different sounds?" (yes), or do you mean "am i hearing a cat meow?"
