today in english class we found out this is doing her research paper over the earth being flat!!!! SHE THINKS THE EARTH IS FLAT!!!! omg!! its our last year in high school!! i just cant believe she thinks that!!! it started this BIG argument with the whole class!!!!!

They may have a point, there's lots of evidence to make an argument for a flat earth, check out the Flat Earth Society website

Hopefully, she will do a thorough job of researching her topic and will discover otherwise. Actually, a lot of research began based on erroneous assumptions that were proved wrong during the course of the research. I say, go ahead and research the flat earth theory!

I think it's clever to try to justify a belief scientifically proven to be false. Maybe that's her point. Makes for harder research, but being the devil's advocate is tough. I don't know if she reall believes it to be true or not....

I think it's interesting. She has chosen something that has been disproved and has decided to try to prove it. I think she sounds like someone with guts and intelligence. She may not be able to prove it, but she questions and she researches. BIG TIME.

if nothing else, at least it will be amusing... I don't quite understand why it would start an arguement though... it's kind of a waste of time to argue something that you know you're right on.
