BIG NO,NO! It's called "Idolatry".Although there are SOME religions who practice this and don't consider it so.

Rather than be literal about everything, I think the underlying meaning of this part of the verse is not to make an image with the intention of worshipping it or claiming it accurately portrays God or Jesus, etc. Just because someone says, "What's up?" doesn't mean you should look up and advise your friend what you see.

Why not? If it helps you to "relate" to Him better, by all means. The "make no image" if I remember correctly is in reference to making "God" or a "god" ... which, again, if memory serves correctly, was in the Old Testament ... not the New Testament.

you can not have images of false gods. JESUS is not a false god he is one part of the only GOD. the holy Trinity (father son and holy ghost) all the same being.

you should not celebrate jesus' death at the cross, but instead you should celebrate that he is alive and he lives.
to have a testimony that he lives is something that is wonderful.
So in response to your question, if it is true and positive, and is made of gratitude then an image can be made.

But, jesus isn't a god. I know him. He's a line cook at one of the restaurants here in town. So is his brother carlos. So, yes, draw a picture, snap a photo, paint a portrait. I am sure he would be flattered.

You can make one, like paint a picture or do a sculpture, or something. You just shouldn't worship that image.

Well, since Christ was incarnate as a man, then it is ok to make an image of Him.

old testament law that should now be used to learn from but not every thing needs to be followed. the ten commandments should be learned and lived by but Jesus said of all of these (commandments and laws) most of all love one another.
the text you are referring to deals with the making and worshiping of idols.
