Well asking at that point in time was wrong but you say you already have 3 children were you wanting more is that why you are upset or just the fact that you no longer have the choice but i know that everytime i have gone to have a baby under epidural they ask in the begininng if you want to have your tubes tied and i say no its documented that i say no so unless you were so doped up on meds that you made a false statement and signed papers with out real consent because you were out of it it was still your choice to do even being completely doped up you said yes i dont want to have anymore kids please help me from doing so a persons true character comes out when they are doped up or drunk so that being said you made a "clear" decision to get the tubes tied and not get pregnant anymore whether you agree with what i have said and what has been done be grateful that you do have 3 kids and that you have not had problems having your own children or that they didnt take out the whole uterus giving you a hysterectomy but merely tied your tubes if you think you have a case talk to a lawyer they are the only ones who can tell you yes/no but they will ask the same thing i did are you upset that you cant have anymore if you wanted to or whats the problem im not trying to be rude but the papers were signed you have your own kids and your above age to get it done so i dont know what else your looking for sorry

You need to find out if they actually went through with this procedure, because there would be consent forms that you must fill out. I don't think that they could expect anyone to make that decision while on the operating table for a c-section. But if you did say yes, and signed any forms then you did give permission. However, I would question the ethics they hold asking for consent in this situation.

there is no way you should have been asked in the middle of getten c-sec ask any woman after or Duren given birth if they want any more children and you first reaction is not a chance your emotions are allover the place you would sing you sole to the devil if it meant you would never feel that kind of pain again but ever mother knows give it a day or 2 and ask the same question and most will say they loved the experience and would do it again i have 2 boys and both times i have said never again and meant it at the time few days on its a diff rent matter i cant wait to have another.they should have waited till you had recovered day even weeks after and gave you time to think about it not give you ab it of paper for you to sing in the middle of a section that grantees you'll never feel that pain again who would say no?? get a lawyers and see what you can do good luck

If you consented, then they didn't necessarily do anything wrong. They definitely should have asked you before they had you on the table, but if you told them to go ahead, there's probably not much you can do now. Usually physicians will wait until a woman has had multiple children or is very sure of her decision to sterilize before performing the procedure.

Did you consent to the procedure and sign a consent? Sounds like to me something is not right. Gather your info together and see if you have a case. My opinion regarding age is that a 24 yr old can consent to permanent birth control. Age shouldn't matter, but if you did not consent to the procedure then there is a problem.

This is also happening in my country. Managers, long waiting lists, low staff morale. I think technology has got the better of us. Too many health options keeping people alive, when once they would have quietly died, with dignity. It's all very well having blood services, scans, surgery, etc. etc. but can they even keep up with the cost of all this, let alone the number of staff required.

As far as I know a consent form would've needed to be signed well in advance not while on the table! I'd check with a lawyer who specializes in medical malpractice.

i cant believe they let you make that HUGE decision like that. around here they wont let you get your tubes tied unless it has been discussed weeks before labor and if you are young you have to talk to a counselor to make sure you know the hugeness of the situation.
my cousin wanted to get her tubes tied last year after her second baby, but she didnt say anything to the doctors untill a few days before labor and they told her it was too late to plan for it, she was 23 years old.

im sure theres a three day rule while the paperwork has to be verified etc, preventing any spur of the moment choices. however, i dont think it is entirely illegal if you consented although it does seem that they were negligent and didn not take note of what must have been stressful circumstances. see a lawyer
