you are considered term at 36 weeks, most of us do not go the full 40. i had a similar experience, the week that my weekly visits began, i had high BP and was sent to the hospital for observation, when my BP went down they sent me home. the following week, my BP was through the roof and was not lowering, so my doctors told me that since I was already 36.5 weeks (term) and my BP was maintaining at a high reading that I would deliver that day! before sending me to admitting in LDR they checked my cervix to find that I was dilated 4cm already. so it was time. you may not be experiencing Braxton Hicks, especially since you have the pressure; you are really close to delivery. you should have your cervix checked for dilation. and if you have already delivered by the time you read this, Congratulations!

I have never had the pressure on my bladder feeling or had my babies drop before so I am no help on that issue. I'm also 35 weeks and have been having BH contractions since around 20 weeks. They aren't consistent and for some reason they happen more when I'm resting than when I'm up and about. I would tell the doc that your's are pretty consistent. Are you drinking enough water? Women can walk around for weeks/months dialated and still not go into labor. I will tell you that for my last child 2 years ago I was 3 or 4cm on a Thursday at the doc appt. Saturday I started getting light contractions, went to the hospital after taking my time getting ready, arrived in the delivery room at 4cm and 25 minutes later I had progressed to 10cm and pushed the baby out within a couple of minutes. All labors and deliveries are different and there's no way to predict how things wil go.

Since you are so far along, your bladder will naturally feel that way. I felt like that with my daughter for the last month I was pregnant. It just means that the baby is starting to lower and is putting more pressure, because of its size, on your bladder. Also if this is your first pregnancy, which I am assuming it is, then you will probably dilate really slowly. You should be more concerned with your effacement(the thinning of your cervix, preparing you for labor). I was 40 weeks, 3cms dilated and only 50% effaced. Once you get to 100% things will start to move faster along. There really is no "average" time for birth after a certain number of cms dilated. It really is going to depend on your own body. Don't get discouraged, but many women end up having to be induced because their body does not dilate or efface quickly enough. If you have any questions, make sure and ask your doctor after she/he checks you out! Good luck!

You are going to have the contnued pressure on your bladder-your baby is getting ready to be born, and once they are in position he or she is putting more pressure on it. I had braxton hicks contractions all the way up until 39 weeks. Tiime will vary from person to person-some take just a few hours, while other can be 16+. Depends on if it is your first baby or not, and lots of other factors.
