Should I use a weaning food like eukanuba or 2nd stage mixed with his formula of course. Any suggestions would be appreciated

I took him from his home where he was living with his mother and litter mates because their home was no place for a puppy, the mother was producing bad milk and the owners were feeding him watered down canned food from a bottle, he was infested with fleas and they smoked in the house and were feeding their 3 danes old roy which is the wal-mart brand. I knew that he would be much better off here with me so I have been feeing him puppy formula from a bottle. So don't judge me before you know all the facts, I am trying to be a good person here.

At 3 weeks of age, he should still be eating from his mother. He shouldn't even be taken away from his mother till at least 8-10 weeks. After reading the next part of your question (response) I can see why the puppy was taken away so soon. I think you are doing a good job and I wish you good luck.(too bad, as I would be concerned about the poor littermates)

If somebody gave you this puppy at 3 weeks of age. They should probably be turned in unless there is a valid reason. No puppy should be taken away from it's mom until 8 weeks old!1

Do have any idea how many times that puppy should be fed?

If you have the mom and the litter and are trying to wean the puppy seek vet advice. Also, put some chow and milk in the dish, so that the chow can become moist and soft to chew.

If you breed your dog: Why isn't she spayed? The chances of your puppys finding a good home are slim!!

Each year, in this country alone, millions of healthy, adoptable cats and dogs are killed because there are not enough homes for them all. Please read the article on The Crisis of Pet Overpopulation. Too many companion animals competing for too few good homes is the most obvious consequence of uncontrolled breeding. Living creatures have become throwaway items to be cuddled when cute and abandoned when inconvenient.
You can help solve the crisis of pet overpopulation by spaying and neutering your pets. Did you know that one female dog and her offspring can give birth to 67,000 puppies. In seven years, one cat and her young can produce 420,000 kittens. Did you know that spaying or neutering is good for your pet, you and the community. Spaying and neutering helps dogs and cats live longer, healthier lives. Here are some common thoughts about why people don’t spay or neuter their pets.
Where to have your pets spayed or neutered.
If you can not find a free/low cost spaying & neutering clinic here that is closest to you, then contact your local veterinarian, animal shelter and/or animal rescue group. They should be able to help you.  To see the benefits and for more information on Spaying/Neutering and websites, visit http://www.mypetnanny.info/Link_Pages/Lost_Found.htm

he should be eating a warm mash. there is a lady in my area that breeds danes, check out her website www.heartfeltdanes.com and click on her puppy info. she explains the complete weaning process at 3 weeks feed warm mash 2x a day and at 4 weeks 3x a day with a bowl of dry dog food also, and plenty of fresh water. she helped me when i found a litter of 2 week old puppies a few years back. mash consisted of warm water, puppy food and powdered puppy milk.

I hope that the pup is still with the mom, or at least with litter mates. at 3 weeks, the puppy is still getting milk from mom. (though he can start to eat food that is soaked in water or puppy formula) Also some of the most important socialization for a dog happens when the pup is under 12 weeks and is learned from its mom and siblings. Pups should stay with mom for at least 8 weeks. 12 weeks is best.

I start feeding puppies solid food at 3 weeks consisting of puppy food crumbled in a blender or food processor and then soaked in water or Esbilac (puppy milk replacement formula)

Maybe you should say why you even own a 3 week old puppy, unless you bred it from your own dog. It needs puppy formula and moist puppy food at this age.
