Lets clarify. Bittorrent is the name of the filesharing network. There are many applications for accessing the bt network. My personal favorite is UTorrent. It's lightweight, easy to use and very stable. There are many like bittornado and azureas so try a few till you get one you like. Just remember: P2P apps are FREE. Never pay for one unless you are using pay-for-sites like Napster.
Your next step (after installing your bt client) is to go to a search site like thepiratebay.org, torrentspy, or torrentbox. There are literally thousands off sites so feel free to look around. Once on the site you can usually browse by type of file like movies, games, etc or just use the search box for specific files.
Once you locate what you want, just download the .torrent file. Save it to disk. Then just double click to open it. Your bt client should take over from there and begin downloading.
I put a link in sources for a great FAQ along with some search sites and software.
One extra: Download and install PeerGuardian2. PG2 helps keep such cornholios as the RIAA off your tale. It's free, so lock and load. Also keep your anti-virus updated and scan all downloaded files. BT is mostly malware free because we users police it ourselves so check out the comments section for each torrent before downloading. If it's been up a while with no comments, it usually means no problems.
Good luck and happy BTing!

Hi, torrents is a little complicating so you need to know what you are doing or you wont be any better off than p2p programs like ares or limewire. Here is a complete guide that will help you out!

For torrents use.http://www.torrentpond.com/ which will let you search the 15 top torrent sites for what you are looking for. You will then need http://ct.download.com/clicks?t=25677882-6263d01b2c5633450d9d64a6ee1da809-bf&s=5&fs=0
to download the files.

Do you mean you want the bittorrent client or bittorrent files?

For a bittorrent client, uTorrent is pretty good:
http://www.utorrent.com/
Azureus is also good, but you should have a fairly decent computer to use it:
http://azureus.sourceforge.net/

For the files, isohunt.com is my favorite torrent search engine. torrentspy.com and thepiratebay.org are pretty good as well.

The peer to peer software I use the most is Emule. Download it here if you don't have it http://bitly.com/1AynnTs
It's a very simple and nice software.
