A good well rounded style would be freestyle Karate. You will learn stand up,ground, grappling and weapons. What a lot of people don't understand is that freestyle Karate is about practical street defence not who can kick the highest or punch a pad the hardest. It's definitely not a sport martial art like TKD or BJJ.The motto of my style is the best of everything in progression.Basically that means we don't care where the technique comes from we improve it and integrate it into our style while still maintaining tradition as do most freestyle Karate's.
The hardest thing is finding a good experienced instructor.I would recommend Bushi Kai or Zen Do Kai, but if your not in Australia or New Zealand you may have some difficulty finding some one who teaches these styles. These styles also usually have separate classes available to everyone in Muay Thai and BJJ/Submission/Shoot wrestling. If you can't find one of these i would suggest Kempo or Enshin or another freestyle Karate.

if you want real life combat, combat that would take place in a adark aly way in chicago or something, hapkido is your thing. i pride myself on knowing the best and worst thbgs about every martial art known to man and hapkido is definatly what you want. my father took taekwondo with a guy that also taught hapkido. my dad went to his other dojo for kicks and started taking hapkido from him too. a warning tho, hapkido is not for sissies. you will hurt in more than one place after every session. i take karate and i am very impressed with what i have learned there. karate is probably your secong best bet on the account of it is an all around good art. krav maga is probably not going to teach you much since its basically karate minus the grappleing (aka kickboxing) and jeet kunedo its basically kungfu with a diff name, kung fu wont teach you fighting that will keep you alive.

As far as fighting a style is only as good as it's user. To be honest I dont know much about any of the styles you are talking about but I know alot about Kung Fu, a decent amount about muy thai, and a limited understanding on jujitsu. But i beleive shaolin kung fu gives you a more enlightened veiw on life along with the fighting.

the art is not as important as the teacher or the gym teaching it.
training realistically is more important than learning a technique that you can use against a compliant opponent only.
find a school where the students generally use full resistance and force in drills and at some point spar hard (what they can, obviously you won't go to the point of breaking a bone or fingers in a sjm hold, but still there is always the majority of techniques that can train hard).
If the teacher uses such terms as "forms champion" "too deadly to spar" "too deadly for the streets" with respect to his art (obviously, you don't train to snap a partner's neck- as I said before applies, but some teachers, mostly CMA or kung fu guys, will say that thier art is too deadly to spar).
steer clear of point-sparring crap, it is martial arts, not tag. If you want to play tag, go find a couple of 4th graders and play tag with them. (I said "Tag" not "catholic priest").
aikido is also known for its compliant partners who "practically throw themselves".

Problem is, no one here is an "expert" to tell you which is "best". only YOU can makr that decision for yourself.
besides that, the discipline is only as good as the individual studying it.
I'd just suggest you pick the three that interests you the most and watch some classes to make your decision on which one is gonna fit YOU best. and then go to some trial classes to see which one you like best yourself and enroll in the class.

Take Shaolin Kung Fu. It will make a warrior out of you. Then try to spar or use self defense if you must. You will see yourself getting a lot stronger and you will become a calmer person. If you really want to practice one of the arts you mentioned, take Hapkido,it's pretty good.
