Has anybody witnessed this before, my puppy (4 months old) is in love my my son's guinea pigs. She stares at them all day long, and when we take them out, she guards them and curls up around them and actually licks them. We've had these guinea pigs for 2 years and I know they are healthy, but can getting this close to these animals make her sick? she seems to think she's their mother or something.

haha,
my puppy Snap,
who is only 9 weeks old does the same thing with my guinea pig.
It's kind of creepy,
but also kind of cute.
My guinea pig's not too fond of her though,
the boys know to stay away from the pig,
because he's got a bit of a temper and poor little Snap's gotten herself bitten quite often.

I had a Guinea Pig who ate and slept with my dogs. They even ate out of the same dish at the same time. They played together. I don't think it hurt any one of them. If people got along this well this world would be a better place. Maybe it is about time we learn from the animals.

My Chihuahua wants to eat my guinea pigs. She doesn't understand what they are, and when they start to squeal, she gets all riled up and barks at them.

I wouldn't worry about her getting sick from them. As long as she doesn't eat one of their poopies, she'll be fine.

I wouldn't worry her getting sick. I mean, they don't make you sick right? I'd just watch her and make sure that as she grows she doesn't go from wanting to protect them to wanting to eat them. My dog used to spend all day looking at my rats. I came home one day to find the rat cage on it's side on the floor empty. :(
