One would think that the purpose of a vehicle license plate is for ID purposes. If that were the case why have two on a vehicle? One plate can tell you everything you need to know and 99% of the time the rear plate is the one used to "run" info on a vehicle, not the front of the car (what cop drives towards you and starts to run information?). My gas meter has one ID number on it; I have one drivers license, my home address is only posted in the front not the back. I would never believe that the truth of the matter is simply the fleecing of citizens?

I guess some states want to be able to identify you whether you're "coming" or you're "going".

Missouri has 2 license plates also, I think it's dumb. They could be using the money for the second/duplicate plate on numerous other things, like fixing roads.
