The word sounds like that. I know it's not spelled like that because I've been doing a bunch of internet searches for it and have found nothing.

Anyone know how it's spelled, what language it is, and it's definition? Thanks

The dutch word " nagenoeg ", wich means "almost", is pronounced "naganooch".
(with this remark: both g and ch are "nagenoeg" the same throat-sound, a bit like clearing your throat: like the Scottish have when they say "Loch Ness", the Israeli's have it when they say "Shalom Chaverim", you might know from the song.) I think the common phonetic spelling for that throat-sound is "kh"
so you heard an oldfashioned Dutch word for "allmost" ... where did you hear it?
