I used to make homemade biscuits a couple of times a month, but I only make them five or six times a year anymore. To make the tastiest, flakiest biscuits, you need lard or, in a pinch, a shortening like Crisco, both of which are bad for your health. I now make mine with olive oil, which is probably I don't make them very often anymore. They just aren't as good.

When I do make biscuits, I usually make them when I have plenty of time to cook, because I think they go best with meat and gravy or something with a white sauce.

For breakfast on weekends, I like to cover biscuits with creamed chipped dried beef or creamed hard-cooked eggs. Come to think about it, I also have had either one of those for lunch on the days I don't go in to the office.

For dinner, I sometimes make chicken and gravy or sausage and gravy and serve that over biscuits.

I also like to serve them occasionally instead of yeast rolls at any meal, still hot, with butter and jam.

I much prefer the taste of homemade yeast breads and rolls, which I make much more often.

Yes I do make homemade biscuits, I also make homemade rolls and cornbread. Usually I make homemade biscuits for breakfast, sometimes with dinner. For instance if we're having a meal that is very down home like meatloaf and mashed potatoes, or chicken noodle soup etc. You can make homemade biscuits for just about any meal. I don't make them very often, but I'd rather make them myself than deal with the fake flavor and texture of canned biscuits at the store. Blech!

I make them for Sunday breakfast a couple of times a month. Sometimes for biscuits and gravy, sometimes I just serve with jam or honey.

Yes, but not to go with a meal, just as a snack, and not very often, less than once a month

Even though I enjoy biscuits for breakfast, I only ever make them for dinner, usually with fried chicken or beans & rice.
