I like korean drama for its romantic and cheerful style while i like filipino dramas because they are heavy, melodrama and i almost cry with every scene (like in bakekang) and the antagonist is so thrilling. What i hate in korean drama is, it is too conservative while in filipino is, the plots became confusing and last for years...

Filipino Drama

i'm a filipino but i do agree that koreans produce better dramas. Even there are no kissing scenes, korean dramas are surprisingly good and romantic while Teleseryes have the same plot and casts over and over (and i don't feel the chemistry between both leads. The trailer and commercials about a certain series explains everything and i don't understand why they have to show that. There's no point of watching it anymore! The suspense isn't there... It's like their main goal isn't to produce a good film but the longest (the longest is the most successful: that's their motto I guess) Sure Philippines have great actors/actresses but isn't it the plot that moves the story? And the story is soooooo sooooo sooooo PREDICTABLE (in the end, the villain becomes a psycho or a kidnapping event will occur) (One of the leads will be forced to be with another person because of a threat etc.). Oh and i also hate how business meetings are portrayed in teleseryes. All they talk about are "stocks" "ratings" "shares" "shareholders" "business partners" etc. It's like the directors know nothing about the field (even medical procedures! They do it wrong) Watch Pinocchio and I hear your Voice (korean drama) and see how realistic their portrayal of jobs are. What can you compare to "My Love from the star"? Forevermore? LOL! It's not even good i don't understand why it's overrated. Maybe because we have nothing to watch other than that? Psh. Sorry for the rant but I have to state the truth. Just an opinion! :)

I have recently started watching Filipino dramas (my girlfriend is Filipina) while my former wife was Korean and we watched a lot of Korean dramas. I do not know Tagalog, so I miss a lot of what is being said, but I agree that Filipino dramas are more complex and daring. In Korean dramas, even married couples almost never kiss. Maybe, Filipinos are "sexier" than Koreans (due to Spanish influence??). In any case, Filipinos seem more like real people on TV. That having been said, I find the need for a really mean person is almost necessary in the Philippines. One other difference: Korean drama - over many, many years - usually has a core story of a virtuous, loving wife treated badly by a husband with a mistress. Filipino drama seems more even - good men/bad men/good women/bad women.

I am filipino but as i can see Filipino are advertising K-Drama more than P-Drama

and i like Korean drama and most of all every drama of Min ho in my mother's comment in P-Drama has lots of dirty scenes that they think it's the best way to make the scenes very sweet it's because of Spanish influence... in K-Drama's without the kissing scenes they make it sweet and romantic...

I STRONGLY DISAGREE WITH THE MOST OF YOU !

I'M A FILIPINO BUT I CAN SAY KOREAN DRAMAS ARE BETTER THAN FILIPINO DRAMAS ..FILIPINO DRAMA ARE TOO CLICHES SAME PLOT ( LOST CHILD,LOST MOM,LOST EVERTYTHING) ANN ENDS UP KILLING SOMEONE IT'S THE SAME PLOT EVERYDAY AND SAME GROUP OF ACTORS AND ACTRESSES.. THE FILM IS POORLY DONE WITH NO HIGH QUALITY AND POOR ACTING SKILLS (NOT ALL BUT THERE ARE REALLY SOME WHO WILL EXAGGERATE)...UNLIKE KOREAN DRAMAS THE REALLY HAVE A VERY UNIQUE AND INTERESTING PLOT EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE TOO CONSERVATIVE (NOT TOO TOUCHY WITH EACH OTHER) THE CHEMISTRY IS STILL TOO STRONG YOU CAN'T EVEN STOP AHWING YOURSELF UNLIKE IN FILIPINO DRAMAS YES THEY ARE TOUCHY BUT THE CHEMISTRY ISN'T EVEN THERE! KOREAN ACTORS AND ACTRESSES ARE WAY MORE HANDSOME AND BEAUTIFUL I MEAN EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE JUST SUPPORTING ACTORS/ACTRESSES THEY ARE STILL DAMN HOT!.. AND YOU CAN'T DENY LOVING THE2ND MAIN LEAD WHO IS SO DAMN HOT AND TAKES CARE OF THE GIR (I GOTTA TELL YOU 2ND MAIN LEAD IN KDRAMAS ARE ALWAYS THE BEST)....KDRAMAS MAY BE TOO SHORT LIKE 16 EP(1 HOUR EACH) ONLY .......BUT AT LEAST WE DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT LONG I MEAN VERY VERY LONG COMMERCIAL BREAK THAT WILL EAT UP 3O MIN OF THE TIME AND THE DRAMA WILL LAST ONLY FOR LIKE 15 MIN. AND HAS LIKE 150 EP (FILIPINO DRAMAS SURELY DOES NOT NOT HOW TO BUDGET TIME)......KOREAN DRAMS ARE THE BEST (JJANG,DAEBAK) ..FILIPINO DRAMAS SURE NEEDS TO IMPROVE ALOT I MEAN ALOT

Korean. They last only 3 to 4 weeks. Whereas Pinoy drama last like centuries. Remember Mara Clara, the lead villain had died and it did not even end.
