i would not get a hand tattoo. it is a huge commitment and there is definitely a stigma agains people with visible tattoos. wait a while and make sure it really is something that you can live with. and know that there are some jobs that don't allow visible tattoos.

Your man does have a point, it might stop you from getting a job. So you really need to take that into consideration. Maybe you could find another place to put a tattoo. Even though what you plan to get sounds cute, it might bite you in the ***.

It could keep you from certain jobs, there's no reason to lye and say that every manager is just itching to hire the blatantly tattooed, but wear a glove to the interveiw and once your hired, they can't fire you for it.
But I'll be honest, if you have to ask in terms of "should I?" then you shouldn't, at least not until you can answer that yourself.

your description made me think of something like this.

i dont think its a good idea.
i am all for tattoos, but i would rethink about tattooing my hands.
even though people are becoming more leniant about tattoos in the workplace, a tattoos on your hand is almost too extreme in my opinion.
although i hate the stereotypes that people make about tattoos, the reality is, if you are in an environment where tattoos are unacceptable, people will judge you.
if you want a tattoo near that location, i would recommend getting it on your wrist, which could be covered by a bracelet, or a watch, if need be.
but unless you plan on wearing gloves to work everyday (if you work in a field where visible tattoos are frowned upon), then i would not get it there.

yeah alot of employers might be against that. depending on where you go. factory work and mc donalds wouldn't mind. but everywhere else probably wouldn't allow that. i seriously wouldn't do it if you want a good future. unless you hit the lottery or wanna work in a factory. it's up to you, but your boy's right.
good luck in deciding. do what makes you happy.

He does have a really good point. I have a tat but I own a business and I don't think I would hire anyone with wacko tats everywhere it's a sign of immaturity
