Theologically, the fall of mankind into sin from an original state of perfection that existed when we were first created by God is the reason the world is not perfect. At the fall, everything that was in perfect order fell as well. Weeds grow faster than food, animals became predatory, people grow old and die, bad habits are learned faster than good ones, foul language is easier to use than good language, and man's basic nature was to seek their own purposes and not God's.
