Any exercise burns calories, so theoretically it would be possible. Additionally, if you build muscle you "love handles" may become less noticeable.

However, "love handles" are fat. And most people cannot loose a significant amount of weight with exercise alone; most of us need calorie (food) control too.

I will disagree with the two previous posters, who stated that you need to do "cardio". Done properly with minimal rest between sets, weight lifting can give you a cardiovascular workout too. Perhaps not as intense as running, biking or swimming, but not a bad one. It really depends on how you workout. Multiple reps with quick change between exercises is the way to go if you don't have the time or inclination to do a separate "cardio" work out.

If you burn enough calories yes. But you will get much better results if you cut back on food a bit too.

Nope. Love handles are fat, and to burn fat you need to do cardio workouts.
