ok, well i have this boyfriend and we are getting really serious, we have been together(counting just dating) for about 7 months. and well we are sexually active. we talked befor anything about what we would do if i got pregnant and we are always safe and we both went to get an std test done just to be sure.... but l have been wondering latly, by the slim choice if i got pregnant , how would i tell my parents. i don't even live with my mom any more. i just don't know how i would come out and say it, and i know i probably shouldn't worry about this now but i mean, What If? i was just wondering if anyone had any advice on if something were to happen how to break the new, or any other advice for me. thanks

I lived two states away when I got pregnant. The phone conversation consisted of "Mom, I have something to tell you." "What's up?" "I'm pregnant." ......................................... (long pause here) ......................................... "Well, I'm going to have to call you back" CLICK.

Yeah, the initial stress of telling her was scary, but like most parents, when there was actually a baby in the picture, she completely forgot all that anger at me.

However, if you are stressing about this when you are on birth control and not pregnant, you need to try to relax. Worrying about what would happen in the .01% chance that you could get pregnant is a totally unreasonable fear.

Not that I agree with having sex at such a young age, but if you *MUST* be sexually active, ask yourself this question...

Which would be more difficult to ask your parents ... to put you on birth control pills, or to help you rasie your baby while you finish high school?

Talk to your mom and prevent something from happening in the first place.

Since you dont live with Mom I wonder how old you are. if over 18 then just tell her she cant do much. You dont live there so she cant kick you out. If under 18 then you just have to screw up your courage and tell her. Be careful. Abstinence is good you know.

This is why you shouldn't be having sex unless you have made a life commitment. How bout stopping. That will solve all your issues.

Oh, Sweetie, do you have a counselor you can talk to about this? I know this is a rough time for you. Is there anyone (school guidance counselor, for example) you can trust to help you through this?

I wouldn't be worrying about how to tell her, especially since you are not pregnant and are doing everything you can to avoid getting pregnant. It's not necessary to worry about it.

i became pregnant when i was 17 and didnt live with either of my parents. it was hard to tell them at first but went to visit each and came right out and told them. they were supportive about it and would support with what ever decision i made. i kept my son and now its easier to talk to my parents. it was hard at first to bring it up with them at first but it improved my communication with them
