Evidently, I broke a friends heart by being a friend and being totally honest with her- I feel totally fine about it and know that what I did what was any friend should have done... She's still unhappy and hasn't talked to me in over a year, but I couldn't bring myself to lying to her about a bad decision she was making- If being a true friend is not telling the truth to spare you "friends" feelings then I'll never make a good friend and I can absolutely live with it!!

If I did something so horrible that would break my best friend's heart, I would feel shame and guilt forever. To break a best friend's heart, I would have had to destroy her trust in me. It would have to be something horrible. Even, more horrible than gossiping about her, gossiping about a best friend is bad enough. It would have to be something like stealing her man, which I would never do. Yes, it would have to be something so horrible that it would destroy our friendship forever. How can a normal person live with such guilt? I know I could not. If I was a sane person and knew what I was doing and did it anyway, not giving a dam about my friend, then, there would be no excuse for me. I would be forced to live with guilt and shame the rest of my life.
My only hope would be if my best friend forgave and forgot what I did to her... My only hope. Then even God would forgive me too.

It would depend on what I had done to break it. I once had to be fully honest with a friend on her bad behavior. She was very hurt, but I cared about her and had to be honest. It wasn't fun going through it, but I did what was right and we are still friends now.
So it depends on the action and if it was for their own good.

It would depend on what I did. I mean if she asked me to tell her the truth and I did and it hurt her, then I'd feel bad but she asked for it. But if I did something just out rightly mean and in no way justifiable then I would feel really bad and I would do my best to fix it.

Depends on whether you think it's real or not. If you took a boyfriend from her and really know ( I mean 'really') that he's the one for you and not her then in time I think you'd all accept it.
But, if you took her boyfriend for lustful reasons without really considering the consequences then no.
In all situations, time will tell.

I depends on what you did to break their heart...did you call them "fat" or take their spouse? There is a difference, you know.
