I have 1.5 year old canon SD300 I am thinking of selling it for $125 then adding an extra $90 and buying a new SD600. Is it worth upgrading?

You'd get an extra 2 megapixels, it's a tad better in low light, and the screen is a half inch larger.
Here's a side-by-side of the specs:

The SD600 is a good camera. If you make full page prints the extra resolution will translate into slightly better image quality, but otherwise I wouldn't consider the upgrade worth $90.

Definitely worth upgrading. We have the SD600 and love it. Great shots for a point and shoot.

Who is going to pay $125 for a used SD300? Good luck with that part of your plan.
