The old testament God was.

I have a problem equating the following quotes from the Bible with a ‘kind and loving god’ that s portrayed by Christians.

Leviticus 25:44—46: As for your male and female slaves whom you may have; you may buy male and female slaves from among the nations that are around you. You may also buy from among the strangers who sojourn with you and their families that are with you, who have been born in your land; and they may be your property.

Exodus 2:7—11: When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she shall not go out as the male slaves do. If she does not please her master, who has designated her for himself, then he shall let her be redeemed; he shall have no right to sell her to a foreign people, since he has dealt faithlessly with her. If he designates her for his son, he shall deal with her as with a daughter.

2 Thessalonians 1:6—9: God deems it just to repay with affliction those who afflict you….when then lord Jesus is reveled from heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know god and upon those who do not obey the gospel of the lord Jesus. They shall suffer the punishment of eternal destruction and the exclusion from the presence of the Lord….

Well considering what he tells us in his word, he is pretty sadistic. Killing people left and right for arbitrary reasons:
Man bangs dead brother's wife as god requested, but blows load on the ground. god strikes him dead
God tells Isaac to kill his son, but changes his mind at last minute.
God kills job's family in a bet with satan, and gives him terrible diseases to test his faith.
God destroys a city because they have too much sex there
God destroys world because they reject him
God destroys building and scatters the people of the earth because they were too peaceful and all spoke the same language, and tried to build a tower to reach him.
God allows his people to be conquered time and time again as punishment for nonbelief
God gives us death as punishment for eating an apple something he created tempted us to do
God creates universe to worhip him and when it rejects his absolute egotism, he burns it for eternity.
God changes his mind halfway through the game and decides to become "loving" according to jesus and allows us salvation if we believe some dude is his kid.
God returns after ravaging the planet to judge those that made sense of all this crap and chose to believe the right god at the right time.

This sounds like a good god? Sounds like the definition of evil.

Why else would He cause natural disasters when he wants to punish people for their bad behavior? Why else would he throw a lot of s**t on Job just to make a point to Satan?

God doesn't hate anyone, but he has rules, and if you obey the rules then he is happy, and if not, he is not happy.
