If you are going to keep a pitbull, you need to be responsible and make sure he is obedient and has LOTS of exercise. YOU should provide it...not other people. I'd suggest getting a dog cart and making him pull weights. Teach him to haul your groceries. In time, when he is mature (around 3 years) he will be more than strong enough to pull you ( as long as you are of average weight).
A dog like a pitbull NEEDS a job or he may turn vicious. He's a working breed. Here is a reasonable cart and harness set up.

i would say that u should try to find a doggie dy care place that will allow pitbulls. Then if they do then i would see if you can try that for a week and see if you think there is any improvements in your dog. If there isnt a place that will let your pitbull in or if you cant find a place that you think is right for your dog or dont feel comfortable with it at a certain place then when you have some free time like on the weekends then you can take it for a walk or to a dog park and let it run, that usually helps build muscles. well that is all i can tell you.Hope you get an answer soon.-Marley G.

you should be able to go to your local pet warehouse like petsmart, or petco, some where like that and find a dog agility kit, it has like weave poles and a pause box, the tunnel and the jump poles, if you add that training to a nice brisk walk every other day (like on Monday take a walk, Tue. do agility, wed. take a walk)it gets you and your dog in shape, there's also usually clubs in every area that will let you compete against other dogs so its a great hobby as well as work out routine

Put a "doggie pack back" on him and walk, jog, run him. for at least 1 hour a day. It will get you in shape too.

EXERCISE him every day, and feed him some fatty foods, but don't over do it. That could make him sick. Put him on a treadmill if the weather is crappy...Thank you for rescuing him!!!

It's called a dog park. They are great places to socialized your dog and allow him off of the leash. Check with your local parks and recreation department.

Where did you get him?
There are many pit bull rescue groups across the country.
They would be your best source in finding out how to get him back on the road to health.
Go to: http://www.mypetnanny.info/PD/Rescues/CA.htm#Dogs Find a pit bull rescue in your area.
