'Church Science'? Just by that name you know right off the bat that it is total BS. Church (i.e. religion) and science are at opposite ends of the spectrum. The religious have failed at calling the biblical story of creation 'Intelligent Design". So now this new 'Church Science' is the next attempt to try to somehow legitimize the fictional stories of the bible? Give it up. At best the bible is a collection of parables intended to teach lessons. Much the same as ancient Greek and Roman mythology. Therefore, a more appropriate name for the bible would be 'The Big Book of Christian Mythology".

The intelligent person understands both sides of this issue. You don't go spouting off to geological scientists about 7 days approximately 12,000 year ago and if you are speaking in a church where they consider the Bible as the infallible word of God, you don't go spouting off about "millions and billions of years ago". You will be made to look foolish in both situations.
Both sides agree on the concept of the "Big Bang", they just disagree as to when it occurred. Both sides agree that man did not witness the event, so, for most people, it really is not worth arguing about, because, either way, it has little to do with life right now.

Church science isn't science. It starts with a preconceived notion and looks for evidence to support it, ignoring or explaining away any evidence that discredits it. Science looks at the evidence and draws conclusions from it.
Church science would drop this country back to the dark ages and lower our collective IQ at least 30 points.

I think many believers are afraid to take church science seriously. All their lives they have been taught to take their religion on "faith" and feel that they somehow might be going against God if they look at anything else. As for non-believers, Church science means nothing to them initially but sure can cause they to ask some questions which might eventually bring them to God. At least I hope so.

Church doesn't belong in science. And science doesn't belong in church.
The problem with "church science" is that it's not scientific at all. It attempts to redefine science by omitting the scientific method, which is how we observe and measure everything.
You can't measure God, so church science does not stand up to the scientific method.
If you want to teach people that God created the world, then go for it. If you want to hijack science, then there are some issues.
There are places to learn about Genesis; a science textbook is not one of them.
PS, in response to, "if you live in Kansas write to your senator and tell him you prefer church science," please do not command me to lie. I won't command you to torture children, and we can both be happy.

Because if we relied solely on simple answers for everything we would have NOTHING.
You get it? Accepting the fantastic in place of finding out what really goes on HOLDS US BACK TECHNOLOGICALLY.
What if we had a huge population boost and didn't know how to feed everyone? Do we pray and beg god for a burger, or do we find a better way to feed people? C'mon!

People have the right to learn about every theory and make up their own mind instead of being forced into one way of thinking or another. That includes church science and evolution.
For the record, I believe in creationism.

Why not launch a full scale assault on Creationism and get it rooted out once and for all? In Europe it is a non-issue. I think it's time to move onto the offensive and get creationism purged once and for all.
