it's mainly for decoration and used to stir the drink after it has been sitting out for a while. some people eat the celery while they drink the bloody mary. others eat the celery after when their done with the drink and than some people just don't eat the celery at all.

Absolutely! If you get a piece of celery that has soaked up the drink flavors, it's an extra treat! Take a bite off the end and use it to continue stirring your drink and it will keep all the spices combined and suck up the good stuff.

You're not supposed to do anything other than what takes your fancy
Don't let others dictate to you-go by your own rules-life's too bloody short.

It TOTALLY makes sense. I am a huge Bloody Mary fan. My bff and I were just emailing back and forth about a bar near her house that has an all you can drink Bloody Mary deal. You buy the first one and the rest are free. AND, it is a make your own Bloody Mary bar so we can make them just the way we like them.

You can if you want, you don't have to. I eat about half the stalk. I prefer dill pickles or green olives for the garnish though. I like a drink that eats like a meal.

No, you're supposed to pretend it's a light saber, and wave it around in a threatening manner, thereby endearing yourself to the bartender.
