Annie, you are not so nieve to believe that you NEED religion in order to be moral... are you?

Otherwise are you suggesting that all Atheist and Agnostics are incapable of being moral people?

Gothic and is there a way to prove that a supreme being exists?

lkrhtr70,

We are more agreebale than you might think. Only I am Agnostic sort of leaning toward belief of a Supreme Being but nothing like religious or personal God(s).

And fairy tales ARE great for childhood... but some people don't seem to want to grow up!

why not? But, if we all treated each other with dignity and respect like we are supposed to, would there be a need for a "fairy tale"? That is the point. Excuse me but I need to rant-I am so sick of the arguments: God or no God, evolution or not, etc...
I do believe in something (a God of my understanding) & you don't have to. I don't know what He is/looks like etc...No one does and is a fool if they say to know. I have my own ideas. I also believe in science. I believe physics/chemistry/bio. etc... is God's work. Also, I believe that the only reason there is religion or the Bible, Quran, Christ, Mohammed, Buhdism-or whatever is that we tend to fcuk everything up when left to our own devices. If no one took advantage of each other there would be no laws. Same concept w/ religion. God supposedly sent Christ to show us the way-b/c we were screwing up. Would He have sent Him if we were behaving properly? I think not. I shouldn't use the term religion b/c that is a man made phenominom that is sometimes used for good purposes, but over the ages has been grossly abused. Anyway, that's all I've got -for now.

BTW-it would have royaly sucked a&& to not have grown up w/ Santa & the Bunny, Toothfairy et al.

Never said you or anyone else weren't agreeable-believe what you want. The Bible is simply a guide for living, a very good one at that(if taken in the proper context)-in it, it says that one is not supposed to impose his belief system on another. Ex.-If I had success following it's guidelines and you were in time of crisis, I would say "do what you want but this is what worked for me."

My mum never said Santa was real, I only believed it because my friends did. There is historical evidence for Christianity.

What fairy tales do you believe? The one about there being nothing in the hereafter, no purpose for our life? Or how about the one where, despite the impossible odds, everything came about (this universe included) through chance?

I look at the world around me. I look at scientific fact and I have made up my own mind- I believe in God. When was the last time you did that?

This could be true about any religion...why are you asking only about "Christianity"!!! The point of any religion is to help society have morals, and for people to understand that they should put the needs of others first.

Santa Clause can be disproved within a resonable degree of accuracy. There is no method of disproving a divine being that does not exist within the laws of physics.

Question is, who has been feeding you fairy tales? God is real, but you will only experience that if your sincere in knowing the truth.

Sincerity is hard to determine on Q&A and if I offended I apologize.

Have you ever seen the little statue of Santa kneeling over the manger to peek at baby Jesus? That about says it all.

by doubting Christianity you are doubting God. we must believe in God through faith. the thousands that believe in other religions either haven't been told about Christianity or they don't understand it fully and are afraid of it.
