Yes, it is very much important to worship the Creator than His Creation. But, the material world is created like a prison house for those souls who left the association of the Supreme Personality of Godhead in the spiritual world. Due to our free will inherently present in us we have come to this material world and only for us the creation is there so that we forget the Lord and be independent of the Lord. Lord Krishna says in the Bhagavad gita, that this material world is temporary and suffereing. He says, "After attaining Me, the great souls, who are yogis in devotion, never return to this temporary world, which is full of miseries, because they have attained the highest perfection".
Just like one goes to school not to stay there permanently or one goes to the hospital not to stay there for over. From the school we learn and go out and from the hospital we get cured and go out. Similarly in this temporary miserable world of repeated birth and death (Mrityu samsara) we learn the lesson and go back to our original home, back to God's abode in the spiritual world
The Katha Upanishad mentions,
"They who do not love the Supreme Personality of Godhead enter a mother's womb, and again dwell in a material body. Some even become unmoving trees and plants. They attain different stations in life according to their past deeds and according to their thoughts at the moment of death."
But the Lord accompanies the individual soul and is constantly guiding him and directing so that he can go back to the spiritual world to be eternally happy with the Lord, as mentioned below.
Lord Sri Krishna says in the Bhagavad gita(19.61),
The Supreme Lord is situated in everyone's heart, O Arjuna, and is directing the wanderings of all living entities, who are seated as on a machine, made of the material energy.
Comparing the soul and supersoul sitting on the tree of body,
both the Katha Upanisad and Svetasvatara Upanisad say,
"Although the two birds are in the same tree, the eating bird is fully engrossed with anxiety and moroseness as the enjoyer of the fruits of the tree. But if in some way or other he turns his face to his friend who is the Lord and knows His glories—at once the suffering bird becomes free from all anxieties."
The supersoul is only acting as the witnesser and sanctioner.as mentioned in the Bhagavad gita(13.23),
"Yet in this body there is another, a transcendental enjoyer, who is the Lord, the supreme proprietor, who exists as the overseer and permitter, and who is known as the Supersoul."
So, the Lord is telling from within the heart what is good and what is bad. The soul can choose the good or bad since it is endowed with the free-will and can either not worship the Lord or worship the creation as he desires.

This is a common misconception, so I don't blame you for it. Wiccans, at least, don't worship nature per se. We believe that the universe is the body of God/dess, and therefore that all things contain Divine energy and that the world itself is sacred.
There can be no separation from God/dess. All things not only proclaim Their glory, but ARE Their glory. It's therefore more accurate to say that we worship the Divine as manifest in nature; we worship the Creator, IN the Creation.

Creation itself is the creator. Don't you see creation out of creation? Up to what extent you will say that creation is not creator. I hope you are getting me that we can not separate the creator and creation. They are the two sides of the same coin.

Oh because people have exchanged the truth of God for a lie- many are deceived.
as Romans 1:25 says:
25They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.

Ummm...not sure what you are getting at.
If you are talking about tree huggers and pagans, then they are honoring the creator by honoring his creation.
When you admire an artist, you don't stand there and adore a picture of the artist...you stand there and look at what he or she created, then turn around and shake the artist's hand.
If you are talking about evolution....please, learn to seperate theology from physical science. Even Pope John Paul II knew they were two different subjects.

If a person does not believe in a creator, then they wouldn't worship one. Furthermore, what makes you think that all non-Christians worship non-divine objects?
