Why is there no Goddess in 'modern, pop culture' religion?

We have to go deep into this 'religion' stuff to find balance, why is that?

If it wasn't for a woman...you wouldn't be here. Woman are far better at managing things than men..why do you think the world is in such a shambles?Men run it..thats why. Religion is something you are told to believe in but I prefer science and the big bang theory as I firmly belive I wasn't made from man

Christianity sort of buried the Goddess when it was created, probably so that they could control the women. They wanted the world to be dominated by man. Look how one sided it is! How many women do you hear about in the bible? maybe 3. Eve, and the Two Mary's. how many men do you hear about? well there was the 12 apostles, jesus, moses, abraham, david. Just goes to show you that if they allowed the worship of the Goddess along with the god, they wouldn't be able to control the women as they do, and wouldn't be able to keep them in the kitchen.

Sorry a bad rant.

Because Christians have hundreds of years of history removing the Deity and pretty much being stuck up snobs when considering other religions that have a Goddess. Pagans on the other hand are very laid back and enjoy life. Christianity is the religion which created "Sin" and "evil." Christians persecute Pagans ever opportunity that they get even though there isn't any reason behind it except to make themselves have an inflated ego. There are Goddesses but you only need to look...yes, I agree, that you need to look deep, but it is still there!

Well, I believe that God and Goddess are one, it is a matter of how you look at it. The reason why there is no Goddess in 'modern, pop culture religion is because most societies today are patrimonial - based on the father, so it is more natural for people to say God, Lord, or Father than Goddess, Lady, or Mother.

The Goddess was removed or lowered in the many sects of Christianity. She has many faces and is still around, you just have to look more closely when looking at patriarchal faiths such as Christianity.

I believe that we do have a Heavenly Mother as well as a father, but that he loves her so much that he doesn't want us to blaspheme her name like we do his. Think of what people do to revile the name of God, and some do it claiming it is in his name! I think he holds her sacred enough that he doesn't want that to happen to her. But at the same time, it is God who we worship, not the goddess.

"God, what happened to the the Goddess?"

The Church turned Her many aspects into saints, for one thing.

Like Brighid.

And, at least in the venration of Mary there is *some* kind of balance in Catholicism.

Which is why many Pagans I know are far more fogiving of the Catholic churches (Orthodox and Roman) than of Protestantism.
