Try joining Weight Watchers, my friend and I go together, she goes because of doctors orders, she is about 400lbs. She also got a personal trainer at her gym. I don't know what excersizes she does with him but it is definately working. She has lost 59 lbs since she started about 4 months ago. The key is eating healthier and moving more, even just a little more is better than nothing. Good luck!!

It's best to start slowly. Try walking as far as you can -- whether it's 50 meters or 10. You have to start somewhere. Take a look at your portions and the types of foods you choose. You may be eating too many carbohydrates (sugar, bread) for your activity level. Find a support team. Friends and family want you to succeed. See if someone will come with you on your daily walk.

I had an accident a year ago. I understand chronic pain. Walking helped me with pain management. I hurts in the beginning. But after a few meters it feels better.

Good luck!

I am also obese. Along with extercise and diet I've recently have had mesotherapy which are microinjections of vitamins on the stomach, back, lovehandles, arms, and chin, that promote weight loss. So far I've lost 8 lbs in 3 weeks plus inches.

You need to diet and excersize. That's the only way to lose weight. There is no easy miracle cure! Stock up your house with healthy foods and snacks and get rid of anything thats not. It will be healthier for your family too. Anytime you feel like pigging out and eating unhealthy look at your children, they need you to be healthy for them. Set a good example!

Good luck!

Hi Yvette,

Right, firstly you need to eat heathily. Cutting out cakes, biscuits etc. and cutting down your helpings of bread and sugar. If you still want to eat bread though, try rye bread or wholegrain bread. Drink plenty of water!!

Start exercising. If you don't want to go to a gym, try jump rope at home, take the dog for a walk, when you go shopping take the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator etc.

Good luck, and don't worry, the kilo's will melt away soon...

Forgive me as I am unsure of the kg to lbs. conversion...do you weigh enough to qualify for gastric bypass surgery or something similar? If not, you really should consult with both a nutritionist and a trainer to get started on a healthy diet and exercise plan.

Diabetes is usually treated through a combination of diet (low sugar), exercise and medications/insulin. Read here https://tr.im/5DNNl
Milder cases can be controlled with just diet an/or exercise while more severe cases require meds or insulin as well.
