They will relieve themselves anywhere, especially against anything that is standing on the floor like books, shoes or bags!
They were both fully house trained, this behaviour started about 3 months ago and is getting out of control, any suggestions on what to do?

Hi i love chihuahuas and i have a pair as of right now! They are my favorite breed of dog! well anyways i am very confused at the fact that 2 fully house trained chi's would do that! haha ..(mine have stayed house broken but you know that dogs always have accidents but normally not that many) i am very sorry but i am not sure at how to answer your question but i would have to say that maybe you should (if you arnt already) start to scold them everytime that they urinate on your house floor......and maybe even start over with puppy pad training them again (which probably wouldnt be necesary unless the problem is like outragous! ahaha) and maybe they could both be having some what of a bladder problem and you should definatley make a trip to the vet with in the next 2 weeks because you never knw and the problem could be a seriou problem or maybe an infection but i highly doubt that! well i hope that i somewhat answerd your question!!!! (which should really be for the vet!!haha :) ) well have a nice day

I have two chi's and they both will not go outside in cold weather (not sure if it is cold where you live), They are also 9 and 6 and the only thing I have done is bought puppy pads. They use these very well. It took a few days, but they got the hang of it. They are a very tempermental breed, so who knows why they do this, but I have heard of many people with chi's that have this problem.

Chihuahuas are very nervous animals. They often do things such as you described when they are under stress. They are very sensitive to change.

Has anything changed in your home lately? Have you been upset or stressed? (they pick up on it - they are very sensitive animals) Do you give your attention to someone new (new partner, child, pet)?

Examine what is going on around you from changes in your home to problems that you have to changes in climate.

You may find the answer there.

My chi not only stopped being housetrained when we got our bull dog, he started chewing things. I gave him extra attention and had some "just us" time, took him outside more often and bought him some bully sticks and he is much better now.

it could be a number of reasons. my recently housebroken border collie is in heat and has started urinating on my kitchen floor. my min pin had a bladder infection when he would urinate after being housebroken. they could be acting out just to get your attention. try taking them to the vet and having a general exam done. ask the vet his opinion on why they could be doing this. if these are not the cases i would suggest retraining .

Do you pay enough attention to them and do you excercise them a lot? They may be acting act because they are not getting walked or excercised.

Are they fixed? Female dogs will do this to advertise for males. It could be that that they are going into heat.

Suggestion, get them fixed, ASAP!
