There is only one Mediator between God and man and that is Jesus, period. No one else can do anything for you and all prayer is to be directed to God.
Mary was a woman and was not sinless. Check your Bible. You will see that after she gave birth to Jesus, she presented herself to the temple and gave a sin offering of turtledoves, as commanded by the Law.
Take it to Jesus. He hears you.
We are also warned against praying with vain repetition.

There is no such thing. It is my favorite prayer. And I´m a Spiritist.
Ave, Maria, cheia de graça. O Senhor é convosco.
Bendita sóis vós, entre as mulheres.
Bendito é o fruto do vosso ventre, Jesus.
Santa Maria, mãe de Jesus, rogai por nós, filhos de Deus.
Agora e sempre. Amém.
Any prayer that comes from the heart is valid.

Who said it is? I think that the biggest benefit to mankind comes from communing with Jesus. But there are times it can be comforting to people or healing to them to ask Our Lady for her prayers.
