The cold weather won't take days out of your life, like it does in NYC. It gets so cold, nobody leaves home. It forces people to hibernate. In SoCal, you're free to do what you want (weather wise) all year. There's also nothing else like seeing the sunset in the ocean.

It's not. I lived there for 14 years, and enjoyed it for about a year. Once you deal with the traffic, pollution, people, cold dirty beaches, insane cost of living, etc., the novelty definitely wears off. Like the saying goes, "it's a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there."

Regarding Palm Springs- it's very nice, but still overpriced and super hot in the summer with many days over 100 degrees. Even dry heat is hot at that temperature...

To be honest, you need to make at least 100K a year to live decently in So Cal... Otherwise the quality of life can be so much better in other states.

Many people would say it's not, including many of the people who live here. It has it's advantages, the weather for example. You have to ask yourself if obscene housing prices and miserable commutes are worth it.

Its not.

Its congested, smoggy, overpopulated.

But yes lots of Hot Chicks cosmetically enhanced for your viewing pleasure.

Unless you play beach volleyball all the time I would suggest moving farther north. Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz, San Francisco

Some people think its the worst place to live. But people who think its so great is probably because its being warm and close to the ocean.
