No. Death is death. Have you ever known someone with Alzheimer's? Everything that makes them who they are disappears over time. If you ever want to see what happens when you die, watch that. By the time it's over, that person doesn't know who you are, who they are, nothing. When the brain dies, everything that makes you who you are ceases to exist. If that was not the case, then brain-dead people would still have a "soul" to sustain them, and they don't. I think, therefore I am. When I no longer think, I will no longer be.
That makes me very determined to think while I can, live while I live, and do everything in my power to take care of this body I've got, this mind, this one life and the people in it. I live for this life, not the next one. Life is not a dress rehearsal.

No one knows, there is no proof. People choose to have faith in different belief systems because they give them comfort. I think we will only know when we get there and that to me is sort of an adventure. I love being alive though so I'm in no rush to find out. I am really skeptical about some of the organized religion ideas on afterlife. I definitely don't think if there is a God they put people in a place like Hell if they were basically good people but not Christian, Muslim, Mormon, insert any brand of religion. I think reincarnation is definitely true in one regard at least. When we die the molecules of carbon, nitrogen, etc.. that we are composed of become available and incorporated in other/new life. That is pretty cool to me. Also, our genes live on in any offspring we leave and that is another form of immortality that we know is true. Our lives are like ripples on an enormous pond, even if there is no traditionally imagined afterlife, the things you did in your life leave lasting prints on the world and future generations.

As a theologian, many "afterlifes" exist, from Nirvana (after many reincarnations) to Heaven to the Happy Hunting Grounds. It exists in most cultures.
Me? I'm basically a skeptic, and still look upon the afterlife as "it may just be wishful thinking", but either way, I'm shooting for the Sacred Isles.

If we receive Jesus as our Savior, our penalty for sin is paid. We are adopted into God's family, and Heaven is our eternal home. If we reject Jesus, we remain alienated from the Lord and under condemnation for our sin. We are destined to experience eternal judgment. God won't accept any of man's excuses because there is no acceptable defense for unbelief. (Acts 4:12)
There are many problems with the salvation-by works doctrine of reincarnation. First, there are many practical problems. For example:
1. We must ask, why does one get punished for something he or she cannot remember having done in a previous life?
2. If the purpose of karma is to rid humanity of its selfish desires, then why hasn't there been a noticeable improvement in human nature after all the millennia of reincarnations?
3. If reincarnation and the law of karma are so beneficial on a practical level, then how do advocates of this doctrine explain the immense and ever-worsening social and economic problems - including widespread poverty, starvation, disease, and horrible suffering - in India, where reincarnation has been systematically taught through out its history?
There are also many biblical problems with believing in reincarnation. For example, in 2 Corinthians 5:8 the apostle Paul states, "We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord." At death, the, the Christian immediately goes into the presence of the Lord, not into another body. In keeping with this. Luke 16:19-31 tells us that unbelievers at death go to a place of suffering, not into another body.
Further, Hebrews 9:27 assures us that "man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment." Each human being LIVES ONCE as a mortal on earth, DIES ONCE, and then FACES JUDGMENT. He does not have a second chance by reincarnating into another body.

Opinions are not important; let's see what the Bible has to say.
The Bible tells us that death is the penalty for sin at Romans 6:23. Of course this applies to us all because we are all sinners, as seen in Romans 5:12.
The end for the wicked is destruction, as seen from Psalm 37:38, and verified by Jesus himself in John 3:16.
The dead are like asleep or unconscious. - Ecclesiastes 9:5; Psalm 146:4.
The dead have no immortal soul that continues alive; "The soul that sins shall die." - Ezekiel 18:4 & 20.
BUT WE DO HAVE HOPE: Isaiah 26:19; Daniel 12:2; John %:28, 29; Acts 24:15; Revelation 20:13.

There is no conclusive evidence of an afterlife.
Most people imagine that there is, but I think it's healthier to realize that after we die we go on living in the memories of our loved-ones, friends, and everyone who knew us.
Our afterlife is the memory and the legacy we instill in the minds of those who carry-on in this world.

yup there is afterlife...theres a little poem that i know
life is real, life is earnest
and grave is not its goal
dust thou art to dust returneth
was not spoken of the soul
this is verymuch true when compared to the bible because the physical body has an end but the spirit is eternal and there is something eternal stored up for us

Yes, there is.
Reincarnation is real.
And the difference between life and death is so small, some people can´t tell.
