I had both my tom cats neutered last thursday, my short haired ginger had a bit of bleeding after, but now appears to be healing well..However my longhaired moggy looks slightly swollen but its hard to see properly with all his hair..
Any suggestions??

They will be a bit swollen but it should go down about a week after the surgery, If it has puss coming from the stitches or infected looking I would call the vet and ask him what you could do... they may put him on an antibiotic. But other than that I wouldn't worry too much about it, sounds like they are healing just fine!

When i had my cat neutered, my vet TOLD me if i see anything wrong to call her. Even tho he was neutered on a friday and the vets office was closed saterday and sunday she told me to leave a message on the answering machine and that she always checks the messages and will get back to me immediately. I fortunately never had a problem with Mugen's neuter but call the freakin vet FIRST, then afterwards come on here and seed advice.

I also had my kitty neutered on Thursday,he still had a bit of bleeding the next day and i was told if it carried on to take him straight back.So i think you should take fluffy kitty back or at least ring the vets back and query them hun.
I hope he better soon chuck.

I have 2 cats, and neither one had either of those problems. I would take your cats back to the Vet.

YOUR NEUTERED MALES ARE AT RISK OF DEVELOPING URINE CRYSTALS. THIS CAN HAPPEN WHEN THEY ARE 3 YEARS OLD AND OLDER. THIS IS A SERIOUS CONDITION AND YOU NEED TO SPEAK TO YOUR VET ABOUT IT. the VET DOES NOT TELL YOU THIS WHEN YOU ARE GETTING YOUR CAT NEUTERED. i ALMOST LOST A CAT THAT WAY AND MY COUSIN DID HER CAT WAS 5 YEARS OLD. THESE CRYSTAL ARE VERY PAINFUL FOR THE NEUTERED MALE. THEY DO NOT HAPPEN IN FEMALES. SO REMEMBER THIS FOR THE FUTURE REGARDING YOUR MALE CATS. if THEY TRY TO GO POTTY AND REALLY CANT THEY PROBABLY HAVE THE CRYSTALS BLOCKING THE URINARY TRACT. THE VET CAN CLEAR THIS TRACT FOR THE CAT.

I am sorry for your loss. My Gilbert lost his littermate sister when they were nine months old and he still is grieving at fourteen months, but he is MUCH happer now. I got him two new kittens to keep him company and at first he ignored them, but now runs with them, they groom each other, jumps and they are brothers and sister now. Cats do love their mates, just as we do, and have so much emotion and memory that it is aching to watch, but part of life. Give Arthur lots and lots of attention and love until you are ready to get another cat. Some people recommend an older cat close to his age and others a kitten. I just love starting from scratch with a kitten and they grow big so fast. It is up to you and you will know when it is time. You never replace the deceased kitty, but it is so wonderful to learn to love a new kitty and so will Arthur. If he does not, at least he will have company in the house when you are gone. I hope you are both well.

If you are concerned, call the vet and tell them what you are seeing. They will probably suggest that you bring them back in to be checked out.

You need to get both cats back to the vets ASAP. There should be no swelling now!

Well, yesterday I took my cat JJ to the vet to get him fixed and he's doing just fine, maybe take your cat to the vet, just to be sure.
