Since taking my PSAT, I've gotten a whole bunch of e-mails/letters from colleges all over the country, advertising their "great programs". Is it rude to just delete these, if I'm never going to consider these colleges anyway? Thanks!

It's fine if you just delete them! You're getting all of these emails because you indicated you wanted to when you filled out your PSAT form. I remember getting stacks and stacks of mail and throwing them away w/o even opening them b/c I knew I didn't want to go there.

You got a lot of replies, but here is one more (and not for points). Look closely at the mail and you may either see reply at some address or do not reply to this mail since this is unattended etc.

If so, you are safe in ignoring them since they are computer generated mass mailers programmed to look like personalised letters.

If they appear to be actually written by a human to you specifically then you may wish to reply. Generally these are "form letters" just like the ads you get in the mail, in this case no reply is necessary.

no one quite is conscious why human beings create viruses or hack desktops. besides, once you flow on your inbox, you are able to verify the direct mail emails, then click the direct mail button (next to the delete button). this would the two block the e mail handle and all proper e mail addresses from contacting you, besides as delete the message. Yahoo! Mail has a tendency to be very liable to direct mail e mail, via fact its the #a million e mail web site interior the international.

It's like any other kind of direct marketing. Somebody sold your information to a bunch of schools and they are trying to get you to go there. It's like getting a bunch of any other kind of junk mail.

The computer that took your name from a list and sent you the emails will not care if you answer it or not, and has no concept of rudeness anyway.

no, they send them to everyone..just choose one that sounds interesting...you are not being the rude one, if you think about it people are applying for these schools and busting their butts off to make it in life, yet the college wont even look at them....they are the rude ones

No - it's not as rude as sending you unsolicited e-mails in the first place.

No, consider them as advertising.
