There are some nondenominational Christian churches (somewhat of an oxymoron I know), but if you feel you believe in God, and that organized religion somehow detracts from your spirituality, guess what? You're not alone!

There are plenty of atheists who will say all the religions are "wrong" because there is no God. Should we just listen to them tell us the world must be 100% logical and scientific? There would be not only no religions if we do this, there would be no belief or faith that God exists. Don't confound the two. You need not join a particular religion to believe there is a God or to "practice" your faith no matter what source you derive spiritual guidance. There is something positive to be said about all religions, and there is a kernel of truth in what science has to say about the world. Just try to not become an extremist like many people posting here on Yahoo : )

How about the religion( or faith is a more accurate term) that is different from the rest. All religions talk about what we must do to try to get to God. The exception is the faith that says that we can't be ' good ' enough or somehow do enough to be forgiven. But Jesus made the way for us by paying for our sins on the cross.

Religion fills a need in a person It answers the question of why I am here in this life and what is my purpose for existence. It also is a refuge when pressures of life overwhelm us and we can't cope with what is happening. Choice of a religion is also important because many religions do not do a good job of answering those questions. For me christianity has answered those questions.

Where people get confused is using the word - 'religion'. It gets abused and used the wrong way thus noted - 'different religions'. There is ONLY ONE true way to become a Christian and that is through the blood of Jesus Christ. His Word states as such. People are also looking for proof with their eyes, but if they listen to their TRUE heart and read His Word - they will find there is NO other religion - belief that is true for your soul. I pray you will ask Jesus into your heart before it is too late. God Bless!

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR CREATING YOU OWN BELIEFS (RELIGION). for those of us who can't we follow some ones Else's made up religion.religions are a way to control you and make money for them selves at the same time. governments have always used religions to keep people in there control. yes, people want to believe in some thing and most don't have the where with all to create or even think about how to put their thoughts in order,or think that we can't . there is no supper natural being out there controlling things. the closes thing to god out there is only energy, no thought , no control only energy.

There is no right religion. Only that which is right for you. If it gives you hope, happiness, and challenges you to be a better person, then its right for you. If you walk away bitter and angry all the time (even if your anger is directed at an "outsider"), then its probably the wrong one for you.

Here's the exact answer to that question: religion is not about God. Religion is about US. Don't try to find the "right" religion; find the religion that's right for you.

Pure religion is this: To look after the orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

It is not about relegion, it is about Jesus Christ. He is the only way, truth and life and no one comes to the Father but through Him - John 14:6

-Many will keep seeking for more truth, they cannot accept Jesus is the only truth- and it is not relegion- He is the one truth that sets man free from sin. When you believe with your heart, and confess your sins to him, repent and follow Him-you are saved.
Because we have all sinned against God, as Romans 3:23 says and the wages of sin is death - romans 6:23 ( the second death which is hell)
But God has sent His son Jesus Christ to take our punishment and die on the cross, then he rose again on the 3rd day defeating death, so that we who believe would be set free from sin and hell and given eternal life.
This is beautiful news! And there is nothing you can do to get to heaven, except believe- it is not by good works as Ephesians 2:8 says "It is by grace you have been saved through faith, and it's not of yourselves but it is the gift of God"
God's free gift to us! Salvation through Jesus Christ!
Romans 10:9
That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Romans 10:10
For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

You don't have to be. I'm an Agnostic, and I am fully comfortable with the fact that I have no idea if there is a god or not. :)

Remember what Getty Lee said. "If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice."
