it depend on what season you are fishing in. in the summer time i like to use power bait. there are a lot of different colors and ta st, it is up to the lake you are using it in. sometimes i would us a roister tail and trout love it , it is a lure that spins in the water. i been ice fish for about 5 weeks and the only thing that the trouts are biting on are mimmows. for some reason in the winter time they per fer live bait.

Try trolling with a small gold and black original floating rapala in the spring for rainbow trout when they come up to feed on the surface. They is usually a week or so span that they do this in the lake so be sure to figure out when that time is.

Zeke's Sierra Gold, floating bait like Powerbait, "trout can't resist" is their slogan and I am a believer.Stays on the hook always floats and I never go home with an empty stringer.

I've fished all day with baits like corn, maggot, worm etc (even a fly) then I put on a lure (spinner) & caught loads, they go mad for anything shinney! ; ) good luck! dont use nothing under 10lb line.
