He stepped up on the flag and was grieving the walls? If you want an answer to this question, I recommend a second trip to English class.

What is grieving the Walls? is it Writing on the walls, or is it peeing on the walls, and the stepping on the flag maybe he was wiping his foot from peeing on the wall and it splashed on his foot
Just a little boy acting out!

Are you meaning he's doing grafitti on the walls???
With the flag, I think he should see some relatively graphic (not horribly scarring or anything) footage of the men and women who have fought for our country. That is an unbelievable lack of respect. Maybe you could find someone who has served in the armed forces, or who has lost a parent or loved one who served, to talk to him about just what that flag means to them, and just how disrespectful it is to defile it like that.
I'm going to assume you meant "grafitti", so in that case, he spends his free time cleaning it up and doing odd jobs to beautify the area he lives in. Part of me would say that you should do something to ruin something of his, just so that he can feel what it's like to have someone show you that much disrespect. Any place that has "walls" is someone's investment and a huge financial asset, whether it's a home or school or place of business. He's just pulling down its value.
Oh, and ground him.
Good luck.

Sara: Maybe your son is just "role modeling" or "acting out what he sees older kids and perhaps some local grownups do". He just needs to learn what behavior is acceptable and what is not. At 10, he must have some punishment, but not too severe if he didn't know it was wrong and ONLY AFTER he realizes what he SHOULD do.
God Bless -- you'll get it worked out.

like crying on the wall? Steping on the flag? Is he a very political youngster? Just talk to him about why he is so mad, and then commend him for expresing his views, but encourage a sense of pride in America too and let him know that being an American should make him proud.
