when tony stewart punched a reporter in the face and elliot sadler threw his helmet at another driver while they where still on the track, when dale earnhart hit the wall at 200 mph, wrecks, people dying cars flyin thru the air , a tire flying off a car and killin someone in the stands, but all this **** happens like every 30 races so i say we make a flag thats RED meaning when the red flag is out is demolition derby last one breathin wins

Well we have to have the plates unless you want the fans killed when a car goes through the fence, common sense there bud. The only people they black flag are usually the rookies when they get too aggressive. They dont do it to the veterans. The yellow line rule was formed to prevent guys from entering the turn and then flying up into the outer groove cuz you cant hold the car down in the lower groove and it causes wrecks. Remember Stewart doing that and he took out about 10 cars 2 years ago? Dale Sr while being one of the best drivers ever was simply put, a wrecker just like Jr is today. There's a time when you can bump and run and a time to not do it. Remember at Bristol when Dale Sr got booed BIG time when he took Labonte out for the win? Taking people out is NOT what racing is all about. If you cant race clean and win you have no right racing out there !!! NASCAR is NEVER boring to me. I even race NASCAR online 4 nights a week and we have stricter rules than NASCAR. The objective is to have a clean racing environment. We dont wreck each other for the win or use the bump and run. That's no way to race. I raced in Jr's online racing league, DMP, and they DO NOT race that way. Time changes things and nothing ever stays the same but NASCAR is never boring to me.

I remember when rubbing was racing. The whole thrill of the sport is that those guys are on the edge of death, and i remember seeing guys fly into the fences going 200, the fences are designed to hold them back. Dale jr. didn't win the freakin race his dad died in, that was micheal waltrip. Of course guys can't go flying into each other like it was a video game but come on, enough is enough. Do you think nascar would have the yellow line rule if dale earnhardt were alive. I don't think so. Dale earnhardt made nascar what it is today. People tuned in to see dale earnhardt race. You either loved him or hated him but no matter what you wanted to watch him. I agree, dale earnhardt died in a freak accident. I also think that nascar is trying desperatly to spruce up there sport by getting more involved with the pits because the race is soo boring. I watched the bud shoot out. Boring! who wants to see two lines of cars that are soo even that they can't even pass each other. Cars can't even pull out and pass by themselves anymore. I remember watching dale slingshot past a driver all by himself. Restrictor plates need to be removed.

Yeah man I remember when Nascar wasn't boring... IT WAS LAST SATURDAY NIGHT! Come on man if you need to see crashes for it to be exciting then your not viewing the sport fo the right reasons... Nascar is great the way it is now, but you have to understand there has to be some order in the sport.
Look at baseball... you start hitting every batter that comes up there is going to be a fight, suspension, fines, and ejections
Look at football... you stomp on some guys head, and you get to miss half the season. If you punch someone your ejected from the game, if you hit the quarterback too hard your fined.
Look at the NBA (not sure if anyone watches that anymore) But if you wear the wrong clothes you get fined, if you argue a call you get a T!
I could go on and on... I love watching nascar but you have to understand they have to draw the line somewhere... Right now the line has been drawn at 200 mph... The reason for the plates at the plate races, is because at 200mph, the studies show that is when a car can get air born... This is not just for the safety of the drivers but the fans as well. If a car goes into the air on the front stretch at Daytona, or Talked (god forbid) can you imagine what would happen... it would probably go right through the fence and hurt many people in the process...
Bottom line you cant just go all willy nilly bashes everyone out of the way, thats not fair to the drivers, and all their money they put into the cars, and their teams...

Nascar has become so commercialized since they started televising everything about the sport. Sponsors are as big a deal as the drivers themselves anymore. I am all for safety but like the man said, are we going too fast or aren't we? I just want to race.(Dale Earnhardt) Its more about the money and not the sport anymore and Nascar officials know that . Progress. I miss the beatin and bangin and the fights afterwards.... there's where all the excitement was. I do understand the need for rules but the excitement that used to be is gone for good.

Before the "modern era" drivers had to quailify there were no free passes. The fastest cars raced others went home. But with fans and sponsors complaining NASCAR put in the provisionals so some could have free passes.A few years later the free passes went to the top 35 in points.
The cars were made from real cars. The use of rolled sheet metal made it sterile cookie cutter cars.
The inspection was to "even" thefield but there was too much grey area and the better teams could fudge it.
When he race tarted if some one was not fast enough they got blacked flaged if notthey were spun.he passing was wher there wa an opening and not in "certain areas".
Then they would race on Tuesday or Wednesday or Thursday nights. They may run dirt one night then a short track on Friday and an intermediate Sunday. Now what gives dang cookie cutters.
NASCAR is getting borin but everything is being given to the
drivers.

NASCAR never was and never will be boring and its the best sport ever, yes some of the rules are pretty harsh and are kind of stupid but its just for the drivers safety, we all can agree that we want the drivers to race but we all want them to be safe especially after Dale Earnhardt Sr. died at the Daytona 500 6 years ago and had his son win the same race at the exact same time. Thats why the drivers are specially seated in their cars with special and custom made seats so they can be protected if they hit the wall going so fast, and Jeff Gordon at Pocono last year, hit the wall going into Turn 1 I believe and got out of the car by himself and started looking at his car wondering what had happened, and he said in an interview that was one of the hardest hits that he had ever taken, and watching him get out of that car by himself with all that damage was a miracle as that was a really hard hit. Thats why we have all these safety regulations now to protect the drivers and keep them safe and still let them race.

Yes, I do!! I think more effort should be put into the skill of the drivers than the performance of the cars. I think drivers should be more aggresive, because nowdays there are hardly any lap by lap battles. I remember the days that Earnhardt and Gordon were always going at each other, but at the same time, they had such a great respect for one another. I think it's because of the fans that boo and the increase of money in the sport that nascar is now less exciting. Fans nowdays can't afford to see their drivers involved in a crash, and they try to blame one others instead of moving on to next week's race. The cars nowdays are so expensive, that the drivers can't afford to take risks while racing. I miss the old days, where there weren't too many factors to consider - it was just pure old racing!

1. Is your favorite driver jewish or christian or other? Don't know. 2. Where is your favorite driver's hometown? Emporia, VA; Batesville, Ark. 3. Do you know your favorite drivers' favorite food? (if so, what is it?) Bologna burger for Elliott. Not sure about Mark's. 4. What is your favorite driver with a number 11-60? 19 5. Who is your least favorite driver? Maybe it's because it's the season of goodwill towards men, but I'm not really hating on anybody right now. Give me time, though I'm sure the start of the season will refresh my dislikes. 6. What is your favorite Dale Jr. memory? I don't know. 7. What is your favorite Kyle Busch memory? When he was getting rammed by Carl Edwards. 8. What is your favorite Tony Stewart memory? When he told that reporter Marty Whatever, who was apparently trying to stir something up after a race, "Did you just not hear me?" (or something to that effect.) 9. What is your favorite Jeff Gordon memory? Him putting his baby girl in his car before a race. 10. What is your 2nd favorite sport other than NASCAR? NASCAR is the only sport I like.

I'm now 'officially' and ex-NASCAR fan. It was a ball when they raced back to the flag, when they bump drafted, etc., etc. Now we have the Chase, ... bummer. We have a bunch of millionaire drivers who couldn't care less if they drive a Ford, a Chevy, or now even a Toyota, as long as they get the big bucks. Yup, now all the cars are exactly the same with different decals, they get fined if they touch one another, and they call this racing. Bring back the days when a stock car was just that, a stock car, ... until then, this NASCAR fan going back to the 60's is history!

I was just watching speed, I work 3rd shift in a factory and Just seen the crap about casey kahne and matt kenseth, I honestly believe that if Dale Earnhart Sr. was with us today that he would have some how made a new series of racing so they would have racing still today, The nascar today is a poor excuse for racing, It's a joke anymore and I used to watch every race but nascar has take the word race out of racing in my eyes. They spend too much time trying to figure out who they are going to fine or what they should do to make every thing so equall, that's not racing in my eyes and they should be asshamed of theirselfs. I may watch the daytona 500 or a couple of shorttracks but it is definately no where near what it used to be. It's like most other things in corprate america, gone sour. I used to go to two or three races every year now I might watch that many a year. I'm sure that their are alot more people that feel the same about it. They run Company that I work for the same way they only care about the money the stock holders and higher ups make and they send our work out to other places to get a **** poor prouduct that will cost them in the future. In the old days I rember going to work and enjoying it, and being proud to be an employee with the company now most people are their for a paycheck. I believe it comes from the greed of corprate america. I would love to see some real racing again but we have a bunch of low life chicken sht's running everything because they have a degree and probably no common sense.
