You should ask.

If someone asks you to buy them some medicine, does it matter what you buy or should you be polite and ask?

No, pray to a god you can trust and believe in. If you don't trust the god, how much good will your prayer do?

If people want to be prayed for, they shouldn't be too picky about which god gets the prayers. I mean, the other person is doing them a favor in the first place by praying for them at all.

No, if they ask you to pray for them, they have no right to specify the deity to whom you'll pray. How could you pray to something you don't believe in?

Anyway, for me, I'll take all the help I can get.

I believe we all pray to the same God. The differences are just how we think of Him and and how we pray to Him.

no, the mere fact that you could consider the fact that any other god but theirs could exist is offensive to them and may lead you to be stoned to death or burned at the stake. luckily there are not too many followers of meso-american gods about as having cactus spines thrust through your genitals, being flayed alive and having your still beating heart ripped out is painful and messy.

I think you should make it known to them that you do not believe in God and not honor their prayer request. If they are asking for prayer they most likely believe that you are a believer as well.

Well if they want prayer that would actually be heard, then there is only ONE TRUE GOD to pray to. Any others are powerless.

It matters.
There are only 2 Gods to whom one could pray.
Yahweh or Satan.
(Satan is referred to as the god of this system of things ...in the Bible)
The only question to resolve is:
Who do we want to urge to help our friend?
