Ignorance is bliss.

I don't know where that saying came from I have seen the result of true ignorance, and those people are much happier than I am.

The person who you are referring to isn't ignorant, they are just blind to any reality but there own. However disillusioned that may be, I have no idea. They are more along the lines of intolerant, and intolerance breeds hatred and predudice. KKK, Hitler's movement, all these jihad militants......when will it end?

Absolutely agree 100%. I don't pretend to know or understand the Atheists, Christians, Jews, etc. but I do my best not to insult anyone.

This also touches a personal note, because as a Muslim, many people, both here on Y!A and in the real world, don't understand the meaning of true Islam, which is a path of peace, and hate both me and my fellow Muslims due to the actions of the radicals in the Middle East.

As-Salaamu Alaikum - Peace be upon you

That's a tough question. I've known ignorant people who were totally sweet, kind, and non-judgmental. (Mostly elderly immigrants from eastern Europe.) I think ignorance needs to be coupled with arrogance before it starts to generate really nasty stuff.

Yoda seems to think so.

Hatred and prejudice is a product of fear.
"Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.”
